on the driveline angle issues does anyone use cv's or double cardin's in other that stock applications to help with any vibration issues?

Hey max.... How about using a Jacobs Ladder to locate the axle fore and aft? That would almost locate the axle in a straight line up and down similar to a 50/50 system... only downfall is that it would have characteristics of a 2 link... poor articulation.

Good call, either that or 4 watts links.

Holy shit

Use a watts link setup with the center pivot point being the axle...woah

...i'm speechless

(yes i know, nothing would hold the axle from twisting, not meant to be taken too serious! haha)

I.C. placement is what determines the primary function of the system. If you figure the i.c. some where around the grille, it will offer a very neutral system. The closer the i.c. to the rearend the more severe the dynamic effects will be. And with that the further away it gets the less effective it will be.

You can use a CV or any other self canceling type joint if you have a system that is limited to space and will give driveline angle problems. The early Cads used CV's for that very reason.

Expanding on that...

You would use both driveline angle theory and i.c. theory when designing off-road 4-links or any other link system that needs to be able to actually perform through out the entire travel. Using a carrier bearing, you can place the driveline and the 4-link within the i.c. you choose and have little or no u-joint angle probs or drive line plunge.
