Ok i just had a couple question about z'ing a ranger. To lay frame you z it 2 1/4 in. right? Also ive been told you dont have to lower the engine back down...what does that do as far as everything being in line? Ive also been told that you can just modify the throttle cable mount and you wont have to cut an opening in the hood or have a cowl hood. any help is appreciated

Well theres some mods to the hood depending on what engine you have. 2" z is what it takes, my frame was on a jig and the engine member hung 2" exactly lower than the middle section

i think thats the easiest to z with minimal changes, z it then you'll find out what needs to be done!

If you have a 98 you should have a 2.5L 4cyl.

If you just want to Z the frame with no bodydrop then you don't need to worry about the motor hitting the hood. You will need to make a new raised tranny crossmember though.

I build a Tranny crossmember that will work with a Z frame.

i already have a raised tranny cross member...does it need to raised even more to compensate for the raised engine?
