I have a 2000 Lightning, i'm looking to bag it in the next few months, i have 3000 for parts. I need your help on what to do, whats best. As for the rear does anyone recommend the ART complete rear kit, or the KPC rear cantilever kit? and for the front what about the ART cool ride? I really dont know much, so anything helps. I currently have 275/45/20 package. So please help, thanks alot

I cant say nothing for the art stuff, but i have heard the kp cantilever rides really well

theres an easy way and a hard way that will both work good for you

easy way-
front: djm lowers on the front with cups and a 2500 lb bag
rear: kp componets cantilever setup with kp parralel four link

now the harder way which would be a lil better in my opinion

u can get a drop spindle, use ur factory lowers and make a bracket off the frame for the upper mount, and u can run a 2600 lb bag

and for the rear u can get a triangulated four link, or a wishbone with ur bags mounted on the bottom bars

well from my personal experiences, i prefer contitech...but i know alot of ford guys that run 2500 in the front use slam.

as forward as compressors viair seems to be the most reliable, but when azs are workin they outperform big time. they say oasis is a beast, but waaaay to rich for my blood. or u can look into an engine driven or run nitrogen

You may also try in conjunction with the above mentioned methods shorter fronts springs, Hotchkis TVS and or just a C-Notch and shackles. Cheap and easy.
There are a few new products that are entering the market shortly as in lite weight A Arms with a slight drop that may interest you. As far as a Four or Five link set-up are you looking for a bolt in or weld up.
What do you want your end results too be, as in drive ability?

Opp's I'm a nubile...

I def. want to bag my truck more than anything, i'm already lowered with a 2/4 springs and shackles, no notch. As far as the rear go, it doesnt really bother me bolt in weldin i dont mind, i just want the best ride and quality of course, but quality that wont break my bank to much> basically i want to be as low as my truck will let me, but still be able to drive me truck like the Lightning it is.

Air Ride Tech undersizes their bags, I just swapped my Firestones out for Slams on my Ram. The rear air bar kits are fine, but usually take some modifications to lay out. I know that there are guys on here who will swear by KP's product as well. Do some research online and decide where you want the truck to sit when done, and how you want to spend your money. Have fun!

thanks jesse and mayer, real help. As of right now my plans will be KP rear cantilever link, with Slam re7's, djm LCA in front with Slams re6's. the only thing thats up in the air is whether to do 1/2 in front 3/8 in rear or 1/2 all the way around. And second are the compressors i dont know whether to do twin viar 380's or twin 480's what are your views. thanks again.

i would do 1/2" all the way around (1/2" valves and 1/2" lines). if it's too fast for you, you can get the valve adjusters that limit the speed.

for compressors, i would definitely get the dual 480 pack. i had the dual 380's and they took forever it seemed. lol. got the 480's and i'm much happier. FMKustoms.com had them for $340 shipped a few months back.

good luck and get some pics up when it's bagged. i love lightnings on the ground.
