for the guys that cut the top off there cars

iam looking into cutting the top off the neon and just wonder what you guys did for support and so on looking for a bunch of pics

I cut the top off of my wagon. For support I built a full frame and did a traditional body drop on it. I dont know what to suggest for your car. I would start by considering 2x3 or 2x4 bracing on the floor so it does not flex.

ive cut the top off a CRX before. We just stiffend up the floor alot with some 2x3, and then made a inside cage with tubing to help support everything, just tubing running just behind the seats from side to side, and something running inline with the doors, those will want to sandwich first.

iam just dont want to make it look all gaughty with a roll cage yah know what i mean a neons not a race car

its been done, there was a neon done up like that 4 or 5 years ago at HIN orlando. It's a florida car I believe. A blue metallic I believe.

As for the "neons not a race car", well, my buddy has one being built for 600+ on a full tune. May not catch traction, but it will be DAMN fast. I think before he tore it apart this time he ran 12's slippin through 2nd completely.

LOL,Nates crx was the shit, we had about 10 people piled into that thing at the SICC show, I have pics of that but none of the bracing
