Dime used to do that when i first bought it, the ground strap from the CAB to the ENGINE block was broken. would drain the battery overnight. I replaced the ground strap and it hasnt done it since.

I just bought a new battery last night because I had the same problems. I had a yellow top optima and even chearged it all day and my truck still didnt start. I think mine was dead from the truck laying on the ground and grounding out the battery.

If you pull your battery cable off with the car running your a moron. It'll fry a computer quicker then you can react. Then instead of 60$ for a alternator your payen 500$ for another computer. Not smart man. Hope you get'er fixed.

x3 on pulling off the battery cable. works on old cars with no computers but cant do it with new comps

The starters on Toyota trucks have the brushes go bad. You can get new brushes from the dealer for about $10. Easy fix!!

Don't happen with Optimas my ass.

I had a red top do the exact same thing. I thought it was from the truck laying out when parked. I started leaving the truck up, or parking it on blocks of wood. Same problem. I checked wiring at the battery, starter, all the grounds, stereo wiring...etc. Never found a culprit.

I started using a small trickle charger to maintain the battery, it worked for a while. I had my high output alt checked by an alternator shop( not autozone ), and it tested fine.

Went to drive my truck to Spring Fling and smelled sulfur???? Popped the hood and steam was coming from the top of my Optima. Since everything else had checked OK, I threw in an el cheapo wal mart battery and never had another problem.

I couldn't swap my Optima because I couldn't find my receipt for a 7 month old battery. Amazingly Advance auto parts couldn't find a record of my purchase( even though they took all my info for warranty purposes ). I guess they really stood behind that warranty( bastards ).

Sorry for the rant. I guess what I am getting at, is you should probably have the battery tested as well. If you have not already.

check your blinker fluid.. if its full, check your main fuseable link.. its a high amp fuse.. the main deal... thats what my problem was.
