i just learned my lesson on buying built rides. thought i could drive it daily but that didnt work out too good. off to welding class i go.
Sorry about your luck. You might wanna see if the original builder/owner wants to join you in welding classes. Lol. I would just redo the whole setup on it to be safe. If those four link tabs are welded to the cast center part of the differential you are gonna want to definitely cut them off and start fresh with at least that. Very few people can do welding on something like that correctly. If you got it cheap enough you might not be all that bad off after all the repairs are made. Something like that would be relatively cheap to fix for a guy that knows his shit and has the means to do it himself. Good luck dude.
yeah, i do remember, i could'nt lay it out because i was driving with no power steering belt because the edc kept throwing it off the pulley. What's up, dude, you get the front bagged yet?
Damn Jumbo. Looks like you need to put it on a trailer and bring it to my shop where we can put it on the lift and get unger there and fix all that shit. It shouldnt be too much work, a few weekends. Plus its winter, perfect time to rebuild.
Hey jumbo I told you to be carefull about the truck because Ed built it (Ed built the truck and is known for building hacks in Utah) I've seen other trucks he has built and they all look the same. And i wouldnt leave that link tab welded to the diff. I would change that ASAP! It will more than likely brake. I really dont like to talk shit on people but i have seen a few trucks that Ed has built and they all shouldnt be on the road!!! sorry man, but if i were you i wouldnt drive that anywhere! park it and get workin on it to get it driveable.
don't worry all, it has'nt moved in 2 months (except i turned it around in the driveway so i could put on the cargo doors weatherstripping, i had to turn it around so it faced the floodlights on the shop, lol), and it won't until it goes on a trailer to a shop to get fixed, or unless i can fix it first.
2nd weekend of december. new shock mounts, fixing hole in frame, boxing in bottom of notch, boxing in driveshaft rip (uh, i mean tunnel), new bags, new tank, gauges, cleaning everything up and replumbing it. I. Can't. Fucking. Wait.
wow!i would replace those shock tabs they just look like channel that has been welded on any old way.but the biggest problem is that notch and crossmember problem man i would get that fixed asap.the weather strip thing no big deal thats a fairly esay fix.the guy that did that work should be shot if he took money for it and he is putting peoples lives at risk he should be charged criminally if possible but good luck on that.or ball kicked till he bleeds.its HACKS like that.that cause problems in this hobby and then pawn thier shit work on unsupecting people.dude i hope you get it fixed soon and show it because it looks like not a bad start.
