i have dewalt chop saw. the only down side to it is, you start to get past 30 or so degree cuts and the steel moves as you try to clamp it and cut it.

i'll prob buy one a milwaulkee sometime soon, along with one of those bullet wheels.

If I need a degree cut precision I throw it in the mill and cut it in. Chop saws and band saws are usually for rough cuts.

I have a clarke 14'' chop saw I got for $100 4 years ago....a leg mysteriously dissapeared but it still works great! Cutting angles on pieces under a foot sucks though...clamp isnt big enough.

so heres my new question. 5.5 horse dewalt vs. 5.4 horse milwaukee. which to buy? is it sort of a "pick a color" type deal? I almost want to try the milwaukee, but know dewalt makes a damn good product...

i'm not sure if the milwaulkee miters better or not, but the dewalt will push your piece through even clamped as hard as you can, at a 45.. hell it tried pushing the material through on my 33 cuts.. when it does that, it cuts it uneven so your edges wont be straight. i'm not too pleased with it.
