I recently bought the Milwaukee. It says its 5.5 horse. I got the one with the cast base. My friend has a DeWalt at work, and his only complain is the flimsy base, and the fact that they burn up two every year. I thought he was kidding but there are two under the bench where the newest one is. But they use them day in day out.
I love mine so far, just keep good blades in stock. I burnt through my last Milwaukee blade, and went to Home Chepo and got a Norton blade. It sucks. It has trouble cutting 1/8" thick tube, and glazes itself when trying to cut 1/4" with no pressure on it.
Or get one of those carbide tipped blades. I'm tempted to get one, since they cut so much faster.
