I went to my first mini show in and around the late 80's early 90's. I remember it was the first time I saw a mintruck, back when flourescent colours were the norm, along with dancing beds and guys who had their beds lined and full of water. I thought it was the coolest sh*t ever. I also remember it was the guys from Michigan and Ohio who always had the coolest trucks when they came up here to Ontario, Canada. I think I might have gone to the first Canadian Truck Nationals, but my memory isn't all it should be. LOL SO maybe 17 or 18 years I've been into mini's. I'm 25 now.

I got into minitruckin in 1989. I went to a rich school and kids were driving BMWs and Porsches to school. My dad wasnt about to shell out for a Ferarri, so he bought a brand new 1988 Isuzu standard cab for me to drive. The only people that I could hang with and not look out of place was this group of guys building these crazy minis. Unfortunatly, my dad wouldn't let me touch the Isuzu. So I went out and bought an '86 Samurai. I got it as low as I could(which wasn't that low) and amazingly got a lot of props.

Holly shit Phil!! I thought I was scrawny. You look like your "long lost anorexic twin brother". LOL. I guess that was when they made us get off our asses and run everyday in P.E.. You know if I rolled up to FBI in my Zuki 2day, looking just like it did in 1990, you'd be all into it.

I tried to trade my Mazda to a guy with a Samurai- dropped on 13" spokes, eyelids over the headlights...
I loved it until I drove it- I thought my Mazda was slow!

Before I got the Mazda, I rode my bike EVERYWHERE- this may be the last photo taken at my fighting weight, because the bike got put away once I got my truck!
