When it all comes down to it, you have to remember the basis of the ooollld saying of "dont mix business with pleasure" Mixing friends, family friends, family members, ect. with business transactions can be a bad move.
People always go into the deal thinking their work will be appreciated and their good deal will be praised, and sometimes thats how it goes, but some people just exspect way too much for way too little.
everything Ive done for friends that worked out really good was when I told them the price and took atleast 1/2 payment all prior to doing the work. broke it down for them what materials and consumables can add up to before you throw in what your times worth.
if its a "on the side job" that means theres no time requirement, you get to it when you can.
