i like the push fittings better, but be sure to push really hard until its all the way in. if not it will blow apart after the system gets a little air in it. compression fittings are ok too. my system is mixed and matched. good luck.

can I switch my compression rings to the barbed type without having to change the whole fitting? Where can I get these barbed fittings? I got all of my stuff around here at a local hardware/clothing/gun store.

you got plumbing fittings, not used for air!

if you dont have a store that sells pneumatic fittings or airbrake fittings, you can order them from www.gravity-werx.com

they sell parker, and parker is the shit.... i always use the parker air brake fittings, they are push to connect, and are all brass, i have really good luck with those, even after connecting and removing lines several times....

Those nickel plated PTC fittings are the best. I've been using them for awhile and have had no problems. The only ones I've seen issues with are the plastic PTC ones.

There are more than 1 brand of Nickel Plated PTCs so be more clear. The ones from Low Rider Depot are non DOT and they are junk.

Compression fittings are such a pain. I dont know how people can stand to use those. I've never had a problem with any good PTC out there, even the composite style from SD.

If your line is blowing off the pTC you either bought complete garbage for fittings, or else you didnt push the line in all the way to lock it in place.

The fittings I am using ar the exact same as what I use at work. everything at work is ran by air. I actually used a few fittings I got from work too. The ptc fittings I have are yellow and brass with js on them. never heard of them but its what came with the stuff I have. The fittings on my tank are the black and brass smc ptc fittings. I don't have a line cutter but my cuts are pretty damn straight. It can be a headache to get this stuff right. thanks for the help. as far as those barbed rings, can I put them in my fittings I already have?

I was having a horrible time (still am but not as bad) with my compression fittings. I got the wise idea to actually wrap the compression ring in a layer of teflon and then assemble it. I dont know if this is the answer but it does help.

I hate PTC fittings. They always leak. I use fitting from the hardware store and have never had a problem. Just make sure you use the insert and the ring then tighten it up. Make sure the air line is straight out of the fitting while tightening or it will leak.

are you using the sleeves on the inside of the lines? i've never had a problem and all i use is compression fittings. switching over to soft copper lines soon and plan on using the same fittings just getting new furrels (rings)

wat he said, if your goin to use compression with plastic line, u HAVE to use the insert to keep the line from compressing, you can actually buy the inserts and ferruls sep at ur hardware store
