the reason for the truck going out of control is you laid it completely out and then with no weight at all on the tires it spun like it did

I am aware of that. I too have drug like that 100 times. 75 mph down the interstate zeroed out. Just like most everybody does. All it takes is one bump and you could be sliding into a car full of kids. I bet that drag car driver thought he knew how to do a burnout for the crowd also. There isn't a right way to drag, no matter how you do it, it is dangerous, expecially on a public highway/street. Nobody is going to realize that untill some people get killed. Then the states we live in are going to ban our trucks and we'll all be bitchen.

As far as not tearing up roads......the gravel flying up into people's beds etc...that asphalt is supposed to be stuck to the road, not sitting in the bed of your truck. Not to mention the road reflectors that everyone thinks is so cool to fuck up...it's our tax money that pay for those little puppies. Taxes arent' really that big of a deal until you grow up and realize you have to pay them every year.

i guess you shouldnt drive near horses either, right? or deer? they go through windows as well. It's something your can't predict. You can't control when it's going to break. Trailor balls are notorious for it, its been done FAR MORE than a drag block has. I have seen one picture of a block hitting a car, wasn't pretty, but shit happens. I'd rather drag blocks than fuck my frame up.

I think what is being missed is that bolted on shit like drag blocks are not as secure as say welded on plated steel. I used to drag the shit out of the body. I've thought of using trailer balls. I was raised around truckers, my dad was one for about 30 years. Shit falling off a truck sucks. My dad was fined $300 for a rock that fell off his trailer...and I'm talking about a little rock...some asshole called the State Troopers and gave them a description of my dad's truck, said a rock fell off his truck.
I lost a wooden block off a flatbed that was ran over by a truckdriver behind me. Shot that block out like a cannon into a car in the left lane. The "sliver" in the bead was about 1 1/2" in diameter...lucky it did not take someone's head off. So alot of these guys are concerned for other's safety. I agree with them. Why do anything to further fuel the public that hate what we do? Stop the SSM hate long enough to consider what these "drag safely" guys are trying to tell you.
