with 2 posts left this month, i have to throw my 2 cent. when i fell bumed out on a project, is usualy when i get a new project, i got a total of like 5 vehicles all of them have turned into projects, and none of them are completed, so what? i have fun tearing them up and fixing them, i dont have the money to do any of them the way i want but hey i got a body dropped chopped top 3/4 tubeframed s-10 that i might never finish but thats okay its not hurting anyone is it? and i did all of it myself, so what if i dont finish it. i dont really get thrills from people saying that looks good, i get a rush from cutting on shit, and getting my hands dirty, and doing stuff that i read about other people paying shops ridiculous amounts of money for doing. i could write a how to tech article on a lot of crazy things, just because i tried to do it my self. theres a few things that i leave to the pros, like brakes, just because i dont like messing with brakes, i can and i have, but i dont anymore because i feel its worth the money to put that off on someone else. i would rather pay 300 dollars to adealership than fight and cuss a freaking spring that wont go back where it came from (rear drum brakes s-10 and i had the stupid spring tools) sorry so long. had to make this post count.

Man I cant tell you how many times I have felt like giving up! Just last week I was talking about getting rid of everything I have from my nissan to my welder and just riding dirtbikes again, but I just cant do that. Ive made tons of bad decisions and have had 3 minis that I put many hours worth of work into in the last 3 years and havent driven a single one! Im gonna get this nissan on the road if it kills me. Its my passion and I cant just give up, you shouldnt either.... keep your head up brother! get that taco on the road the way you want it it will be well worth it!

I try not to get involved that deep anymore. Each year I focus on 1 thing. This way I can still drive it each summer.....Year 1 I bagged it, then paint, then re-bagged and interior......its just easier on the mind knowing you can take it for a spin anytime you want.

my motivation to work on my truck is the people that come by my house and see my truck up on jackstands and say "when is that thing gonna be finished", or "is that thing ever gonna run" or "junk it" so when im done i can be like "lick my balls beeotch" *drop*

I am sure anyone building a ride or even having a ride built has had times where they want to give up for whatever reason. I know from first hand experience that if it had not been for one good friend my truck would not be where it is right now. If you do not have the luck of good friends then maybe magazines or shows can relight the fire. In the end you have to do what suits your situation the best. Make the best decision and understand the ramifications before you do. Take care and good luck.

I am struggling real hard as well, always broke. College has stopped my progress in fixin up my truck but i havent gotten to the point of selling it.. It's my first vehicle that my dad passed down to me when i was 16 and it feels really bad when friends are fixin up theirs and seein them add and add more stuff and they ask, you should do this or that and not be able too. I been saving up every quarter, dime and nickel i get for about 4 months and seems to be workin haha. It really adds up. I got about 120 bucks in change

I've been "working" on my Ranger since 1990, I last drove it in 2001. I haven't touched the truck in 8 years, but something won't let me get rid of it. I basically have to start over to get the truck I want. I have so many parts that I have bought that were cool in the day but now not so much. With getting divorced, remarried, buying a house, and having two kids, it hasn't felt like I would ever get to start on it again. But I never have the three things you need to build a truck at the same time (Money to work on it - Place to work on it - Time to work on it). Just don't give up Jose if you really want to build your truck, Stay with it, the pride you will get from driving it out for the first time done and you will forget how long it took you to get to that point.

I think i am working on year 4 on my s10. It is pretty close to paint then the interior will be the last thing i do. Can't quit, cause quiters don't win and to win you have to begin and to begin you have to want to win. What is win? To me is a finished project one of hard work from me or some one i paid to do something. i still worked hard for the cash.
