I have built a few minis and I can tell you I have gotten way ahead of my budget and myself on them and it sucks, I have come to realize that you dont have to have the most radical mini out there, you just do what you can with what you have and remember that the shows and the scene my might change over time but it will always be there so sometimes you have to take a break. Just remember to have fun, you only live once and not every person or truck can be a legend or a cover...Have fun

hey guys, i havent heard many happy ending storys in here.. and for 6 years i thought about starting a thread about this... because i know EXACTLY how it feels... but let me tell u, that after all the $, and work u put into it... it doesnt even matter the second its finished, it truely is all worth it in the end....

not really, because then you sell it, and you lose 70% of your $.

It's better to put your money into a Roth IRA. Or build something old. really old.

jey you are right about the money factor..but really dude..how many people do you know that stopped and said one day..damn im gonna go build a minitruck so i can sell it and get rich...i bet no one...if thats the reason your building then yeah..minitruckin aint the place to be..build hot rods..but most minitruckers build minitrucks..because thats what they LOVE to do..

So true you are not building a truck for the money. I know I am building mine for the fun and enjoyment of it. It is more fun than going to the bar or getting into trouble When I need a break I go into the garage and work for a bit. Besides sitting with friends and BSing is so much fun.

i said earlier in this thread that i was finishing my blazer just buying up parts, well i was minutes away from ordering my entire rear setup plus everything i needed for the bagging of myblazer and ill be damned if i didnt find out that ill probally have to buy a fuel cell to run the 4 link the way i want, god i feel like saying fuck it it might be just a fuel cell but damn i have everything i need, except a 4 link, brackets for the rear, and shock relocators. Damnit now i gotta buy a fuel cell too? its just a matter of if youre willing to wait and what it means to you...

Dude,i feel like giving up everytime i have to go to the shop and work on other peoples rides just to make ends meet, seems like everytime i get a hand up on things i get a knocked right back on my ass, funny thing is i got the most work done when i went thru my divorce which was what helped me thru that ordeal cause i just buried myself in it,now 4 yrs later i have a new wife and life, but she got laid off her job a year ago and cant find work,so i am workin 2 jobs to pay the bills, but every once ina while i just say fuck it im workin on my truck and i know one day its gonna be done i dont care if it takes me 10 yrs,if its a dream and you got passion you'll get it done dont let anybody tell you any different

Dude, my Dakota has sat in one spot for the last 15 months. I've driven it twice in that time. The last time I started it, it was running fine, went inside for a couple minutes and when I came back out it was overheating with the temp gauge pegged. Now is has this very disgusting grinding sound coming from the engine (which in only a couple years old) and I don't have the motivation to find out what broke. You just get burnt out after a while, when every time you try do something to the truck something else breaks.

I have finished mine, magazine feature blah blah. I have no desire to drive it or even look at it. Since I started it I have grown up as a person considerably. I could honestly care less about it anymore. If i thought i could get a decent amount of cash i would sell it in a heartbeat. Until then. it will rot in the garage until the one time a year that truck bash comes and i drive it down there for the weekend. So for me im feeling the same way you are with a finished ride.
