WELL I AM FROM PHX and also in :: and fromt he north side too, living in Mundelein, IL now and all I want to do is be back. The snow, humidity, rain and gayness are way worse than the heat for a couple months.

Also you can drive your show car 12 months out of the year not a week here and there like here

In canada mostly its only the old folks that want to go to phoenix in the winter to get away from the snow but i on the other hand jus want to move there because phoenix is the nicest cities ive visited in the states. From what ive seen its a really clean city and the people that live there take pride in the fact that they live in a nice city. If it weren't so god damn hard to get citizenship down there for me, i would be driving down there with all my stuff right now.

If anyone know of any machine shops that need operator's or a material purchaser lemme know. Also if anyone know's a hot gurl that is looking to get married for whatever reason and wants to help a canadian out. lemme know...lol

AZ. is a good place to live. personally i would not live in phx. glendale or the other west side cities to much traffic for my taste. I would suggest living on the east side mesa, tempe, chandler or even maricopa the highway just got built and is smooth as ice and perfect for diving 1/2 inch off the ground . As for schools the last i heard we were like 48th ranked of worst schools so homeschoolin is the way to go here.Crime and drugs are every where in any city just some neighborhoods are worst then others. Show scene has gone away a little bit but the shows left are friggin fun!! plus if you want to drive to cali its not far away also. hope this helps.

thanks for all the input guys, as far as work goes, i won't be looking for work because i'm already a jet engine mechanic & there's positions open down there to work on Luke AFB (they're contracting out almost all of their backshop teardown & buildup maintenance). i guess i should've said that before. i've also heard that surprise is a good place too. it will most likely be near the end of the year (nov-dec). traffic & heat doesn't bother me because i'm from the lancaster area of southern california. i just can't stand the weather here in t-town. i'm not exaggerating or lying when i say that once sept/oct rolls around...you won't see the sun but 2 or 3 times until about may! traffic sucks here & people are assholes everywhere you go, so...

thanks again & we're more than willing to hear any & all input from anyone & everyone!!

corey (& lauren this time)

corey, i know exactly how you feel. i grew up in Tacoma(south hill area to be exact, off of the 512 by Mc Chord AFB) i moved down here in the summer of 2002, my sophmore year in highschool. we moved across the street from Luke AFB, and my parents still live there. As long as you do not go into Downtown Phx, you will be fine.
My parents still love their house and i moved out last year and went to the otherside of the valley, and i now live in Queen Creek. its about 70 miles to their house and only takes an hour. the traffic down here is 100000 times better then up in WA.
The schools are fine here, i graduated from Mellenium HS(2 miles from Luke AFB) and i enjoyed it.
The summers down here are not that bad. the first summer and half of the second were bad, but you get used to it. but like everyone said, you can escape to the pines up north, and its only a 2hr drive and its mid 70s to 80s in the summer time. and during the winter they get snow. if you have any questions feel free to ask, its really not that bad down here.

Surprise is great. New everything and it continues to grow. The schools in the West Valley are improving greatly too. I'd make the move for sure.

Well since you said your gonna be @ LUke. I live in surprise....just bought a 4 bedroom 1700sf house for 152k. Im about 15 minutes from luke. Everything in surprise is new. The city has only been here for a few years. Schools are good. Everything you need is out here ie movie theatre, grocery, resturants. I love it. I would never live on the east side. Those peeps have a diffrent way of thinking. And thats were Aim is at also. Fuck those guys. Hope that helps. Im me if you need any info about surprise.

thanks again guys, but another question i have is that looking through all the rentals online (we'd prefer to rent for 6 months or a year to see what area we want to settle in) but none of them seem to have separated garages, or much land to park all my toys. is that just a NW thing (separated garages)? i do a lot of paint & bodywork & i'd really not prefer to have the garage attached to the house. most of the houses have RV parking which would work for my dually & trailers, but that garage thing concerns me. i suppose i could just rent a booth until i buy a place, but that'll be expensive to rent one for quicky fender jobs.

thanks again guys
