Good idea Mike. I'm tired enough going to shows and filming and taking pics without drinking. I can't imagine being drunk and then having to get up early to shoot a feature or roll into a show on time.

Though I don't drink myself, I don't mind at all when other people do. Until they get drunk. Then it's just a pain in the ass. When you're sober and a drunk person decides that they want to talk/bother you for an hour and a half and their other friends or club members are making the tired old statement:

"They're just drunk don't worry about it."

it's just plain UNCOMFORTABLE. And i hate feeling uncomfortable at shows or meets.

I don't think a person's friends or club members should ever have to apologize for that person's actions. It's kinda pathetic.

So I whole-heartedly support you on your quest cause it's fun being sober.

Bout time. Damm it seems like im the only one not drinking at shows these days. Im glad you will be sober too.

I don't know what Mitch is talking about! I have been to a few shows with him lately and the shine comes out! (Mitch Island) LOL I have slowed it down to a slow roar on Thursday and Friday nights at shows and nothing at all on Saturday(since RESO) Driving home 7-16 hours with a hangover SUCKS! I'm with ya Mike! I can say that you see a different side of everyone though. Like waking your monkey ass up and caring you to the car instead of being passed out beside you! LOL Good Luck Brother!

Way to step up mike.. More well known guys in the scene such as magazine editors, Large shop owners, and members of world wide clubs should also start to realize that the image they put out there for all the young people to see is gonna have a impact on how those young people act... A combination of Acts like this, not just stop drinking but to moderate it, keeping track of your friends if someone is doing dumb shit police them up, And the lifestyle videos promoting positive behaviors, The minitrucking community would thrive. sure there is nothing wrong with getting drunk and having a good time. I myself do it alot, but excersize a little self control, everyone knows right from wrong except jeffery dommer. We need to get back to being a somewhat civilized community and maybe we could have more shows and hangouts that are actually welcomed by our communities. Come on guys its time to step or step out. Dont let minitruckin go any farther downhill.

its funny because the first time i met ernie macias when my truck was to be shot for MT i was holding a beer in my hand (which for those who know me is a very rare thing) --- but in ran in the article along the lines of "me holding a beer" --- which seemed to world like a was a drinker ---- its fine with me but very ironic since a hardly drink if ever -----
good luck on your decision Mike and its a money saver for sure ..
