the line from upper bushing to lower bushing is almost always at an angle, that doesnt matter as long as the rack is in that area and lined up. I used a rear steer Tacoma rack on a Mazda B series (front steer)and flipped the rack around and used it for right hand drive.

Your best bet is to do some wrecking yard research and measure some racks that are very close to what you need. Most have two small holes with bushings that they mount with and you can always change the ends to heims to fit whatever spindle you want.

I'm thinkinh of something like this but if the gears are the same size and touching without a chain it would reverse the turn direction. Any Ideas?

any machine shop should be able to take two of those and mill some new aluminum plate for the bearings. looks like you will have some slack though with those sprokets.

Anything is possible. How much money are you willing to spend?

I can have anything that you need built, but your pocketbook is the limiter. Have you checked mcmaster.com?

I am looking for something like this for an econoline. The problem I am having a hell of a time figuring out is how to get the steering basically do a u-turn so I can mate it up to a rack on a mustang II kit. Does anyone know where I can get such a "gear box" that I can do this with.

Thanks,Chad
