the scene is dying b/c ppl post threads on street source saying it is dying..

I kind of agree. If I was new to this and I was checking out ssm, i might get a bit turned off when I really shouldn't be.

Locally out here in AZ I don't see too much negative stuff at all. I think most people around here would be more than willing to ask anyone else in the custom scene for help in the hobby and most would be just as willing to offer that helping hand. I love it out here!

Agreed! Here in Texas and surrounding states it appears the scene is doing fine!

The scene isn't dying. Goes through cycles. Just like any club goes through cycles.

Lack of respect is universal. Lack of appreciation for work is universal. Browse other "scenes" or genres and see it. Go to their shows and see it.

As far as the internet killing?? Seriously? Most shops and clubs wouldnt be where they were if it wasn't for the internet showcasing them. The downside to the internet.. No filter. Stupidity can instantly post like bloggers. Internet clubs, 'experts' and personalities are created on the net that don't really have a leg to stand on in real life.

This truck thing is what you make it. If you want it to be more positive etc. Then do it. Act it.

Bob Hase is a prime example of putting out a positive attitude that helps spread the love. Max is a prime example of a real world good shop spreading knowledge and trying to direct you in the right path. So on that note many of these great people would not have been able to share that knowledge or attitude worldwide if it wasnt for the net. You can't get real time question answering in ink.

So buck up campers. If you want it to be smiley town make it. If you want to think it sucks leave and save yourself the time.

Jim once again I thank you for your insight and honest points. Many people could learn from you and your view. It is about more than the internet and SSM. I for one am going no where so if people think it has died please look me up cause I will still be here and enjoying myself. Peace.
