what are kinetik's advantages since we are all hearing so much about them recently but not actually hearing anything at all.. just the name

i've never really seen a kinetik in anything but show trucks that dont get driven. not sure they would be a good daily battery. loads of cranking amps, but nowhere on there site when i looked did it say for use in daily rides. i've only seen them in audio builds really.

With that amount of current draw, I don't think it will do you much good to just buy a more expensive battery. If you haven't already, upgrade all your underhood grounds to larger guage wiring( like 01 guage ), and get a high amperage alternator. then look at adding better/additional batteries.

The alternator is what supplies the current to your truck( mainly ). A bigger/additional battery will only add to reserve capacity. also, when you add more batteries, you have to have the current on hand to recharge them

Just for example:4 x viar 480's=150 amps current draw when running + amplifier= 80 amps with system playing. Thats 230 amps drawn from the charging system.

If you have a stock alternator( good for 60-90 amps a lot of times ), then your battery is supplying the the other 140-170 amps of current. It basically will put your charging system in the hole and kill any battery.

How long??? Depends on the quality and size of the batery.

Also keep in mind the above doesn't account for Lights/ac/ecu/ignition... anything the truck needs while running.

A larger alternator and additional/better batteries will probably cover your needs.

I've got a lil 800 tucked behind the seat of my s10....I've never had a problem out of it. I've driven to Memphis, bowling green, nashville, maggie valley and all over east TN this summer. i gots a v6 too.

I have always had stinger battiers but I just got a KINETIK about 5 months ago and I have had no problems, my truck set for 3 weeks straight and started right up this past weekend. KINETIK is the only thing I will run from now on
