best battery's

i have a 2000 in my daily and 2 1400s in my show truck and my dad has a 2000 in his show truck and him and mom have kinetiks in there dailys

I bought mine pre ///RA if that makes you feel better.I'm pretty sure it performed the same without the Relaxed logo on my back window.

i have the napa version of the optima and has been a good battery.

one= BATTERY
plural= BATTERIES

That being said...

An Optima or ANY gel BATTERY is not meant to EVER be drained fully dead. If you let it go completly dead and leave it like that for a few days, it will never be the same. If you drain it dead, charge it as soon as possible.

The thread asks for the best BATTERY'S, and so the question is which BATTERIES are the best. Kinetic seems to be a very good BATTERY, and the Optima line is a very good series of BATTERIES. like I said, you cant run them dead.

On another note, most small independent BATTERY shops will sell you a generic gel BATTERY. Its the same as the Optima, just without the name.

I went through two yellow tops,and I rarely drive my truck.If you don't start it daily,the Optima's die.I got a Kinetik,and it can sit for weeks,and it starts every time.Kinetik is the sh-t!

Not RA and I have been running my kinetiks in the Las Vegas heat and in the desert cold for two years. I Have a decent drain on bateries and have never been left stranded with a system, 2 viars, and a disco light show. I have had to sit on the charger, but never left stranded. Before I ran kinetik i was all optima for a long time, but since I will not go back.

Freaks of Nature

I've had the same optima yellow top in my nissan for 7 years without one problem. I should add that it usually sets for 4 months or so though the winter and always starts in the spring. Are there better batterys? Probably, but I have had great luck with my yellow top.

I use a HC600 as my only battery in my daily. A little small in my application but works perfect.

Optimas are pure junk, I cannot say enough bad things about them. Optima is like the AIM of the battery world.

I've never had a problem with Optimas. I bought my first red top in 1993 and it lasted me until 2005. The one in my S10 I bought in 2001 and it is still going strong. I also have one in my Suburban that I bought 3 years ago with no problems.
It will take a lot to make me change my mind about them after 15 good years with Optima.
