Stock Looking Suicide Doors

Minitruckin' did a tech article many many years ago where they swap the ends of the inner door so you use the stock hinges and latches and just redo the rest.

This by the way is the way that most high end rod shops do REAL suicide doors. Barn door hinges are junior league these days.

oh yeah, we did switch sides on the hindges... used some beat up donor doors...basicly a 1/4 flat plate for the hindges to mount to ... and fab rest the metal to match up to it. is what we did

matt, you had to mount them further in the 1/4"jamb" though right? just like factory the hinges are closer to the fenders, right?

yes thats correct, hindges mounted behind the fenders... so with reversing it, they mounted behind the rear panel... pain to get too.. but worth it at the end ...

Anyone have that article from the magazine for the Chassis by Aaron Iha hinges?
