its been awhile but if I remember right, most pumps require 24 volts to run so minimum batteries would be 2.

so it sounds like that I would need to run 2 extra batteries, but I wouldn't hook these up the the alternator to recharge them. I would just have to get a trickle charger thing to boost the power back up at night.

Another thing I was wondering about. How is it that I could run hydros on my car, but not air cans. I know that the major issue to air cans on a mac strut is that they bend or break. Is it possible to run air into a hydro strut? or will it not work?

If anyone has seen my other post I'm just looking for the best solution to fix my front end and gain another 2" + more drop so I can tuck tire. Would it be possible to weld in a hydro into a mac strut and run it on air? (I realize that this is a bit off topic, but it will help me decide what way to go with this car)

You can get a street charger i believe to charge your batteries while you drive.

I had a Street Charger on my Silverado & it worked ok when I drove alot but I still had to charge it.

Why can't someone use a 24v alternator? I don't see installing a second alternator being any more difficult than an EDC.

now that I can post again.... does anyone know where in Canada, preferable Toronto I can get hydro parts? Right now I'm looking for used cobalt/ion struts from the dealerships so I can build a hydro strut, but I need to find a local shop to buy parts from or a good online vender.

Anyone know of a shop or site?

street chargers are garbage... we run 4 pumps 14 batteries lol... no but seriously for a good set up give T&D customs in summerville, sc a call they will set you up with all the prohopper items that you need, 843-824-6550, they can ship to you

anyone else have a suggestion on a shop for hydro parts?

bump... looking for a shop for hydro parts. Going to start redoing the front suspension soon and will need cylinders, pump, valves and other misc parts.

Oh and cobalt/ion front struts, preferable ones that are shot and someone is willing to give me.

I have a question.... why the need for coil springs on somthing that lays body or frame? don't they only work when the vehicle is resting on the springs instead of being held up by the hydro's?? if that makes sense

Adam, 2 more months and a the new line of hydraulic parts should be available. Otherwise, I'd direct you toward prohopper...they make some "decent" parts, but their customer service is lousy. Make sure you go with their competition cylinders.

David, when the vehicle is lifted it would be riding on coils - or you don't need any coils whatsoever if you are running accumulators.
