the first pic that jason posted is how i would try and do it...if there is absolutely no way you can get a gusset in like that..i would at the very least..try to put something BEHIND the upper shock mount/arm mount down to the frame..altho i dont think there is much room for that....

yup what keef posted would work too....

You to make some gussets that go out about a inch and then down there is nothing to stop the control arm mount from just ripping off the frame seen it happen many times. also another thing i seen your lower balljoint is just flipped over and your more then likely just drilled your spindle to fit your going to have lots of play in it now. its better to buy drop spindles it comes flipped and it gives you the xtra drop you need

Did you even read the original post??? I have TOYOTA SPINDLES. The way they are made, you have to flip the lower ball joint over.... thats how the ball joints are set up on toyotas... the upper goes in from the top side, the lower goes in from the bottom side... And I'd like to see some pics of all these trucks you've seen that had the upper control arm mount rip off...

I see what you guys are sayin.. i'll try to figure somethin out

i had all that happen on my mazda the first time I bagged it. Didn't gusset worth a shit, and the upper arm mount broke off while doing 80 on the freeway. wasn't fun driving home with it broken at like 35 on the freeway. Anyhow, I ended up making new upper arm mounts and moving them up about an inch in process to make sure it wouldn't happen again. Also helped with laying out on 20's without the need of spindles.

happened to me way back in the day the very first time i bagged my truck. cut too much off from original and it eventually broke the factory weld.

Well it is nice to actually get feedback haha. The truck isn't goin anywhere for a while anyway so i guess I'll make sure to get some more gussets welded up before it gets driven. I'll jus sit on it for a while and try to think of a good way to do em, that'll look good as well

i have also noticed were u cut the control arm mont and added some plate in place. takein some more time and think how to add some extra support is still a good idea. but over all looks like good work. the question about how much lift people get up front. i get right at 11in but i got a s10 not a mazda. most mazdas i see were i live get like 8in they raise up enough to clear 17s but not alot of effert is put into most trucks in my area and most mazdas do not have notched frames for the bags
