---------------------------------------------Originally posted by DanWardTruckinEditorEdited: 9/16/2009 9:44:27 AM by DanWardTruckinEditorListen up everyone-This is a horrible situation, not only for the magazine world, but for 2 great guys who no longer have jobs.Sport Truck was our brother in the mag world and we did our best to help each other out. Unfortunately, the truck community is to blame for this loss. When we, as enthusiasts don't support the mags, this kind of thing happens.Magazines have to make money and if when you're at the grocery store, of Wal-Mart, or the bookstore, and you're not buying one, we all suffer.Don't let our competition fool you, this had nothing to do with them, it had to do with the truck world not buying magazines.  If you have a Sport Truck subscription, you will now receive Truckin'.   For all of you who had your truck shot for Sport Truck as a feature, we at Truckin' are going to do our best to run your truck. Also, for all you go-fast, muscle-truck guys, Truckin' is adding a new performance truck section in 2010 (you'll see it on stands in 2 months). This section will whet your appetite with blown, big-tire, hot-rods with a bed. Also, we will be picking up as much of the Sport Truck project truck tech and build-ups, as Mike with allow This way, you'll still see stories from Calin and Mike.   As for Mike and Andy, no one feels worse than we do. It could have been us. If you love the truck scene and you want to keep it alive and well—do your part!Buy truck magazines.-Dan Ward, Editor Truckin'---------------------------------------------what if we have both truckin and sport truck subscriptions?  kinda pointless for me to get 2 truckin mags every month........

I know that personally, when I get MT and the same rides are featured in another mag, I will pass up the other mag because I have already seen that truck.   ---------------------------------------------Exactly how i feel. It sucks to hear about Sport Truck mag. Thats the only subscription i had because minitruckn, steetrucks, and truckn all featured the same trucks.

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by bigcuzdave64I love all the truck mags, and please don't take offense, but sometimes it's hard to shell out $6 when it takes 2 minutes to get through the AIM or Chassis Tech or whatever ad, and you're not even interested in what they sell. People get tired of that stuff. I understand the mags have to have advertisers, but maybe reduce the price a little. I remember when mags were WAY cheaper and still had as much stuff in them as they do now. Inflation I guess! Plus when you have three mainstream magazines covering basically the same thing (Truckin', Sport Truck, StreetTrucks), the market seems to get a little saturated with the same stuff over and over. This does suck, they always featured the odd rides, a great mag.   On a side note, Brian is that my truck in your KEG banner?

Edited: 9/16/2009 1:34:06 PM by johnboyon20s i just called source interlink media, and nobody knows about sport truck is no more? after i got the run around and made a few calls the nice lady informed me  that sport truck was still in print, and if it did go under they would send us a card in the mail and give us a choice of something to replace it, or extend ur subscription to truckin

Replying to the post by David.I agree there is some overlap in the truck mags. The reason there is overlap is truck owners often times let 2 or 3 people shoot their trucks, rather than keeping their word and sticking to one person (one mag). We can't control what a truck owner does after we shoot his/her truck and if they allow someone else to shoot it, there is a chance it will run in more than one title. In regards to price, come on. $6 isn't going to make you go broke and if you look back to Feb. '03, you'll see we have NOT raised our prices.Yes, the mag is smaller, however, every title (ie, business, corporation) is suffering.  Speaking of ads, flip through Truckin' and you'll see we have more TRUCK content than anyone.  Yes, this situation sucks, and yes some of you did just renew your subscription, but we're going to do our best to make Truckin' the best title we can with a little influence from Sport Truck added in the mix.  I'm looking into having both titles as subs, I don't know what they are going to do about that. Also, if you call, the person answering the phone may not know how to properly respond. I apologize,  I can't control any of that.

with the whole same truck in multiple magazines thing... I have let all 3 photographers that have shot my truck know who else has shot it at the time of the shoot, if not before. If X company chooses to shoot my truck because Y company shot it 10 months ago and hasn't run it yet, why would I not say YES?  I can't help that X chose to hold my truck for 10 months and never run it, while Y company is willing to run it ASAP. If they run within 2 months of each other, not my fault, I was upfront with everyone. Its the photographers fault for telling someone their truck will run in 3-4 months then 8 go by and it still hasn't run. I held up my end of the deal... on a side note, people bitching about subscriptions. check out the links below Truckin', 13 issues for under $10 thats $0.77 an ISSUE! Minitruckin' 12 issues for $13, 24 issues for $24.

Trent-You crack me up man. You can control who shoots your truck, it's your truck.Yes, you did tell me a freelance guy shot your truck and that it had not run yet and some other crappy truck title shot it as well. And yes, I told you I would shoot it and try to get it in quick.Calm down you Tech fan and buy the issue that comes out next week (you'll find I kept my word). I'm looking at my copy right now. For those of you wondering the same thing, your chances of getting in any mag are much higher if you let someone who is on staff shoot your truck. We have many to go through each month and not enough pages, so patience is important.  This is a whole other post, sorry for distracting anyone from the main point: we ALL need your support.

--------------------------------------------- Originally posted by drnkphuk Exactly how i feel. It sucks to hear about Sport Truck mag. Thats the only subscription i had because minitruckn, steetrucks, and truckn all featured the same trucks. --------------------------------------------- If we feature the same truck as Street Trucks it's because the truck owner wasn't being truthful with us, which does happen. We typically won't shoot a truck if it's been in another magazine for just the reason you mentioned. Go and find a recent Truckin' that has a truck that was in Sport Truck or Street Trucks first, it won't be easy. There are lots of trucks out there, it's a waste of our time and yours to be running the same ones as anyone else. That said, I was taken aback when Mike told me Sport Truck was shutting its doors. All of us at Truckin' will be doing our best to pick up the slack. LIke Dan said, we'll be running both tech and features that they've already got in the bag and we'll try to cater a bit more to that audience.   Remember to do what you can to support the industry, we all know that times are tough, but when you pick up the phone and order parts, tell them that you heard about the product here or in a magazine. They need to know that their ad dollars aren't wasted.
