What a lot of people don't know is when BYC was shut down, that was just it, Mike was locked out of his shop. The building owner locked the doors and sold everything in the shop (tools, jigs, dies, sheet metal, metal tubing, computers, etc) so he had no way to know who had already paid for arms and who was waiting and all that. I personally believe in 2nd chances (just like Dog the Bounty Hunter, lol), and it was Mike that build my control arms and Watts link for my burb. Anyone who has seen any of my threads knows that i have been working toward this for 3 years and was so pissed at the work done on the hack job i bought that i ABSOLUTELY will not put any inferior products on my truck. That being said, not only did he build my arms and Watts link, he had to modify the arms due to my "4x4 tire" being taller than what the arms were built for, and he had to tweak them to have them fit the Porterbuilt Dropmember that's on my truck, and he gave me a HUGE discount on the Watts link just because he has'nt perfected the design yet and wanted to use my burb as the Guinea pig I will absolutely do business with DHP again if i ever have the need. And i believe i will, since my wife now wants an old hot rod. I can't auction off a kidney on the black market to buy a done one, so i'm sure we'll start with a rusty shell somewhere, and i'm equally sure almost if not all of my suspension metal work will come from DHP.

The new piece fits so well it installs in 15 minutes and the price went down to 100 bucks. Also it was good enough that one company which wont be named here ordered one and 11 days later had a copy for sale. This same customer also just ordered the upper and lower arms for the same Ranger and will get the deal promised on it. always pay with a credit card or paypal. Dont wait more than 90 days or paypal wont help and most card companies also use the 90 day rule. ---------------------------------------------this is true, im not trying to bad mouth the company just giving an example of what i seen, hell if i wasnt sitting here with a crushed ankle, id be ordering the fullsize chevy upper a arms.

I got my Toyota upper control arms today & the lowers will be here soon. I must say they look great & cant wait to get them installed on my boys ranger project. Ill post pics of them as soon as I get my camera back.
I have a customer, that just dropped his truck off a week ago. He had origionally ordered a good amount of stuff from DHP, and he got it really fast, and exactly when they said he would.
However, in his words ... the parts were far less than impressive. And i guess when he asked for a parital refund, so he could return the parts, he had not been replied to. So, he just dropped the truck off to me and now im going to build a bunch of stuff for him on it.
I glanced at all the parts he had here, and its good that he is shipping the parts out fast, but honestly some of the parts are ... for lack of a better word.. rigged..? Its somewhat baffling to be honest.
Im personally one of the origional guys that got hosed by BYC when i was younger, snapped a balljoint plate on an s-10 control arm, that i ended up paying twice for... and its good to see him get another shot at making parts and being an honest & reliable business man, hopefully it works out in the long run.
it's already not working out, cuz obviously anyone that cancels and order or tries to get a refund doesn't get it. I called him up a few weeks ago about my refund and he said he'd check it out and call me back and guess what I never heard back from him.
Any small time shop that starts out with quality product will get buried.
People put out a good product.
It gets hyped on the net. Everyone and their brother hypes the product ( even if they don't have it) because so and so has it so it must be awesome.
Everyone floods said shop with business.
Steel suddenly becomes hard to get.
Anyone complaining on SSM is a rarity. Others don't speak up in fear of losing whatever 'spot' they perceive to have for their part.
Excuses 'Getting made tomorrow' 'On the jig as I type' 'waiting for machinist to come through on (insert part here)' 'My wife left me' etc etc
UPS or any shipping service become senile and can't seem to either remember to pick up the order or where to drop it off.
Shipping company is so inept it can't even give out a good tracking number
Shops friends hop on how they are stand up guys and would never do that.
Everyone believes the shop because the first person to usually speak up is a
My buddy recently got his upper arms for his isuzu from him. Took 4-6 weeks but they look pretty good. He has yet to drive a lot on them, but they definitely got rid of his camber issue at ride height once he bodied it. But ya, he got the email runaround up until the day he got the arms. Shady guy it still seems.
my experience is... you get your parts eventually after 42 emails (thats an actual number), and when you finally get your parts they are sub par. I had to remake one of the balljoint cups because it was atrocious. and he forgot to send me 2 bushings. I ordered parts from him to save time when building my arms... That bit me in the ass and wallet, and I ended up remaking everything anyway.
excuse the iphone cam crappy pic, but look at the liger teeth marks on the top of this cup.
this ones confusing and again an iphone pic. the bore of the balljoint cup I had to remake vs. his in the back
upper balljoint mounts... sweet liger teeth prints in the holes. Again, note I had to remake it, see it in the background.
why do the threads on this rod end just end right there? useless.. after I get a jam nut on, thats an inch of wasted space.
I will give him credit because he is the reason I finally broke down and bought a lathe.
