---------------------------------------------Originally posted by DeepSouthS10---------------------------------------------Originally posted by lowoh4When you are new to the scene and don't know much about it, Throwing rims, a stereo, and even doing a bolt in C-notch for a lowering kit are BIG things to an everyday person. I think we all get a little bit used to the bagged/hydro'd scene, that it kind of conditions us to start seeing bags as an easy mod. It comes in waves. First you think that bagging your truck is EXTREME, then you bag it and show for a year or so, then you Body it, and the bags dont look like a big mod anymore. It's kind of a snow ball effect and by the time you are done, you have a crazy show truck with nothing factory left. But you have to remember where you started.  ---------------------------------------------Man thats a really good point. Never really looked at it that way but its so true. --------------------------------------------- good point.. i also never looked at it that way.. but i know some of the guys. an talked to them about what they were planning.. (like level out the back an put neons) i guess i'll see next show. lol

Everyone has to start someplace not to mention that not everyone can afford to to frame up builds

ya but the stock rides im talking about they have been showing the car/truck in the same state since the shows have started...ya i feel the same way about a frame wining something ....there are some rides that enter u/c and only have 1 small primer spot and the rest of the truck is fully done ...and then they win over something that truely is "under construction".

primer of course comes before paint! in most parts of the country there is climate change season to season some drastic hot to cold. it does effect bodywork and its compounds. moisture is a factor too. my best guess to why so many primered vehicles are a few. the cost, waiting to see if the bodywork holds/shrinks, have not decided on paint/graphics scheme. like everyone on here agrees, its gotta start somewhere. that stock guy at the show is hopefully showin his start. really cant see a trophy in the pic unless there is a stock class. yes he/she is def showing support by payin the fee. i like clean rides, so show that clean ride just try and improve with a change from show to show. as max from bio says.. a project under construction is less likely to be boring than a finished one. another couple of cents thrown in!

What really sucks is in the last year I took my wife to three shows.  There was a fight at two of them. She said forget this, I am not going to anymore and your not taking our son if this is the kind of thing going on.  I have been showing for 11 years and these last two years were the first where I saw a fight in the middle of the show.  Absolute bullshit.

Well I will say this, I agree with everyone on the "you have to start somewhere" because those same people that are showing stock trucks will later on be the ones stating the same complaints in a few years lol and the fight at show thing..mmmm I really don't see why people have the urge to go to a car show, pay whatever they did to attend and then fight and get thrown out....but DJ, remember when you first got started!!

ok   i guess i am from a different time , a lot of good points have been said here. i just can remember when a mitz. was only $4500.00 for a new truck and $500.00 for wheels and tires and a 4 in drop  and $2000.00 for a stereo and seat covers   so you had a grand total of less than $10000.00  in a nice built truck.but that was a few years ago...
