---------------------------------------------Originally posted by 98dakota20i think dickies being over rated is lame. alot of people wear dickies, not only mini truckers. why buy shorts like hurly, or no fear for 50 that look like dickies, when i can can buy dickies for 20 at wal mart, and not give a fuck if i got them dirty from crawiling under my truck...built not bought is not over rated. buying someones finished truck, showing it and wining is over rated. --------------------------------------------- So all trucks that are finished and sold should never be shown again by anyone?  Last Look is shown alot and so is Time Machine and most people appreciate seeing those trucks at shows and Im sure they win.  I guess you are keeping your truck forever right? Dont want to sell it to start a new project so some kid that is new to minitrucks can buy it and enjoy it.  Perhaps it would give him the encouragement to build one himself next time.

1: lady gaga  2: the movie " the expendables   3: slapping together shit boxes and calling it "old school" in the " rat rod " style  people that consider themselves more minitrucker then me because they slap together a vehicle thats not safe on any highway and drive it too a show , and i build mine and wait till its safe to drive before i show it ,

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by KEG MediaI agree with alot of these but I think the #1 thing i hate hearing is "Minitrucker". Can we not come up with a better term to describe our scene that is full of more fullsize trucks then minis? I don't know about you but most shows i go to i see more full size trucks than minitrucks yet they are all called "Minitruckers"---------------------------------------------Man I 110% agree with you on the minitrucker thing. A few of us talked about that very thing at Scrapin the Coast this year. Not that being called a minitrucker is offensive or anything, but the scene has evolved to include much more than minitrucks. Don't most of "the powers that be" of this scene/community/sub-culture (or whatever else you want to call it) reside on this very site? Seems like we could easily start the movement here. I'll stop there to avoid getting this thread taken totally off subject, but I think a thread about this would be very interesting. If there is already one please post up a link cause i would love to read it. If there isn't, I may start one myself.

--------------------------------------------- Originally posted by baggedMITSU --------------------------------------------- Originally posted by SSM-Brandt Threads like this are over rated, lol.   Actually people judging what other people do with their money/time/life seems to be one of the "scenes" biggest problems if you look at it.  You see a lot less of that in other types of scenes.  People just focus on having a good time, and forget the other meaningless details.     --------------------------------------------- Me and you are on the same page yet again. Threads like this are useless. bitching about how people dress or how they choose to build thier trucks is over rated. If I have the ability and knowledge to stock floor my truck what business is it of yours. And somebody said it right, not only minitruckers wear dickies. If you think its a uniform think again. Dress however the fuck you want, you dont "have" to be a follower. Why doesnt anybody start a thread about the good things that minitrucks have done for you. How about   1. making friends. 2. learning skills like welding and fabrication. 3. Traveling, how many of you would get out of town let alone your state if it wasnt to go to a kick ass truck show.   This scene is full of negative nancys, wah wah wah. I look at the positive side of things. I love what I do. And guess what, minitrucking, is a part of my life, it is the way I live. And if you dont, I'm not goimg to knock you for it. To me this is more than a hobby, What I'm doing in five weeks from now has something to do with trucks, What I'm doing tomorrow has something to do with trucks. Is it sad? not for me, I love my life, my friends and my family, and I wouldnt change a thing. It's not for everybody but if it's my lifestyel, don't knock it. Sorry to rant, and let me add the disclaimer. this wasnt intended towards anybody in specific, just a general observation.   Ernie --------------------------------------------- Couldn't have said it better myself.
