i was told on several occasions that a rendering of my car would help alot but i looked around and a rendering would cost 100 - 300 bucks and thats alot for a picture but i got a call to work for a body shop today so i might just start buying parts and see if i can get a %off or for cost and the air bag setup is going to be all trial and error never done one.

--------------------------------------------If $100 to $300 is a lot for a rendering that can potentially get you a huge savings and potential sponsors then you are in the wrong sport bud. Building rides isnt cheap and building high caliber ones is even more expensive. I have about 30 sponsors on my truck and still have over $55k to $60k in it out of pocket. You have to have have a bit more understanding of what a sponsor is for. Return on Investment is all they are worried about. Companies want to be involved with projects that get a lot of publicity and recognition. If you have nothing to offer them on a higher level then they will have nothing to offer you. Ive never seen anyone that posted on a forum about "how do you get sponsors", get one. Most guys that get sponsored just know how it works from years of being around it.

I am one of the people that decide who to sponsor at Grant Kustoms and in my opinion the key to lining up sponsors is:
a) being an advertising tool. Make sure to explain in detail what will make your build stand out and how you are going to market or exploit these stand alone features. Also make sure to list all the shows you will be taking it to and any feature shoots you have lined up.
B) have a expected finish date for the build and mean it. It is a good idea to include current build progress pictures
C) speaking of pictures, invest in a good rendering. A good rendering shows you have direction and gives the sponsor an small but immediate pay off.
D) List all the sponsors and shops that are already involved
E) if this isn't your fist custom build, make sure to include pictures, build times and a list of shows and magazines that your other rides have appeared in.

Make sure to package this in a high quality portfolio (if you don't do a good job on paper what would make me think you would do a good job on your truck) and MAIL or HAND deliver it. Don't e-mail it or just dry call.

This in no way guaranties you will get sponsors. If this is your 1st complete build you may not get sponsors, its cost us money to give you parts and we tend to go with proven builders and owners in order to insure a return for our money.

Thanks nice of James to sponsor you a rendering. When you need bags and other parts they sell make sure and spend your money with them since they are investing in you. No worse thing for a sponsor than to have someone they hook up spend their money with a competitor instead of them. Good luck with your build.

Don't hit a grand slam, when there aren't any base runners. Nothing is given to you, you have to take it.

Nice, I like that. Well said.

The key to the noodles is learn variations and get creative with it. I like to crack an egg into mine and stir it up right before I take it off the stove. Its kind of like egg drop soup lol. Good luck man.

im gonna take that and run with it... thanks matt!
