Wasn't this an SSM sponsored giveaway? Now the title is changed...

--------------------------------------------

Im glad im not the only one who realized that point. Everyone is hammering Jimmy on this whole fiasco. SSM was part of this giveaway also, but nobody has mentioned their name in the comments of disappointment. Regardless ( from what im seeing ) the truck is being worked on. Surely Jimmy said it would be ready for SEMA,and its not. Lets rationalize here: how many fab shops live up to their time frame for completed projects? Not very many. Whatever reason why Jimmy didnt live up to his commitment deadline we dont know. We all talk outta our asses here and there once in a while. Is beating up on Jimmy on this thread making the truck get done quicker? NO. Is Jimmy doing a good job maintaining his temper and taking a ass chewing? YES. Im sure this has been a lesson learned for him,and im sure he wont let this happen again. Should we all rag on Bob Haze for being a cosponsor of this project? HELL NO. We'll all get banned..lol. Dont kick a man when hes down. Get that thing done Jimmy, and stop spanking it...

I completely agree. whats important is that it gets done and safely. As long as the owner is happy with the finished product. We've all missed deadlines. Thats life. Give him a break. If the tables were turned you would like the same respect.

Now. the truck looks freaking sweet. Frame is way cool. Look forward to the build!

yeah thanks to you and your tig work on the crossmembers

I know you will say I am hating, but I am not digging that frame.
What's with the fireman ladders going down the sides? You could have came up with something a lot better for the frame getting wider. Welding up a 1/2" distance between the round tube and the square tube just looks bad. Butting the rails side by side looks terribly wrong, but even if you just couldn't figure out a way to do it differently you could have skipped the one at the rear of the frame and left it the same width as the underside of the cab portion.
The front cross member thing is cool, but it would be nice to be able to unbolt the center section.
The drive shaft hoop thing is also cool, but the way you attached it makes it look totally out of place and unnecessary.

Just my opinion...

I agree with what he said ^ about the drive shaft hoop in the rear.

I agree with everything he said^^ that thing must weigh a ton too. Hope its gonna have some badass stopping power. That's alot of steel. Where the tubes but into the rails could be cleaner too where the diameter of the tube is smaller than the height of the box tube instead of just filled with weld.

i can see what you were trying to do, but it looks like you just got bored and started welding random pieces of metal together. if it were me i would stop, rewind, and reconsider a redo of the center section of the frame. if you took the back half, and front half and tied them in better, you would be headed in the right direction. The way it looks now, just looks like someone that has never built a frame before is trying it out, at least the middle anyway

Thats the first thing i thought when i saw these new pics. but of course, you cant say what you think on here because you will be considered a "hater" lol, and your post will be deleted.

I dont like it at all really. Parts of it look good, but as a whole it looks out of place and just rushed together. Whats with all the un-necessary welds? it would be different if they were nicely layed beads, but a lot look boogerish. The rails just set next to each other is terrible, I cant imagine the reasoning for that at all.

The front crossmember looks interesting, im curious to see where you go with that. That could turn out pretty awesome thats for sure.
