Ive had my fair share of run in's with the city...just about monthly. I'm about 40 miles north of you in Temple and they always give me numerous citations and ample time to correct the citation. After 30 days...if you haven't fixed the problem then it gets serious. If the truck was drivable...why not just move it. If it wasn't drivable...then get it off the street. If it sat there over 30 days unmoved then I dont blame them for towing it. I had to move my truck in my driveway for the exact reason. I did receive a broken down truck citation from the city when I was driving my truck...I just drove it to the courthouse and showed them it was driveable. J

dont know why he didnt just move it before the situation got that serious. looking at all of the mud and leaves that accumulated around the truck, it looks like it hadnt moved in a while. If the cops ask me to move my truck, even if I don't agree with them, I'm gonna move it. No way am I letting a stupid run-in with a cop get this out of hand.

The story is that the mazda kept getting parked in the street for being considered a non functional vehicle since it was laid out. The owner kept getting tickets but kept parking in the streets. When they came to tow it the owner "protested" by not lifting the truck up and filmed it all. He picked it up from the impound lot before they had it off the flat bed. He paid his fees, lifted while on the flat bed and drove it home.

Personally I think he makes us all look bad. All he had to do was park in his driveway and the "harrassment" would have stopped. Usually if you get asked to do something by the cops there is a reason and concequences. People say that the cops are being dicks but they are doing their job. If you don't do anything illegal they won't fuck with you.

You honestly think that? There are bad apples in any group. I got pulled over last Mother's Day by a local cop in my town shortly after leaving a gas station. His reason? I didn't yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk. There were no pedestrians in any crosswalk I went through. He just needed a reason to pull me over, probably hoping I had something in my car, I didn't have current insurance, or something like that. Something he could write a ticket for. I didn't do or say anything the whole time to test him, I just did as he said and tried to be respectful, but he had an attitude the whole time. I wasn't even driving my mini truck. I was driving my old Malibu which was mostly stock besides wheels.

In some ways I agree with you however, where do you draw the line when police officers(who are supposed to serve and protect) are harassing you daily for laying your truck out on the street side in front of your house? How is it that this officer can call this man a nuesence to his neighborhood for parking his truck in the street layed out? I know all he had to do was park it in his driveway but like I said where do you draw the line and just do every little thing an oficer tells you to do because he has a badge?

It's simple... follow the law and you won't get harassed...

move your truck when it's your legal obligation to do so. Dude in the video is in the wrong... Not airing it up to prove a point made him look like a bigger asshole in the end.

If he wanted to make the cop look like an asshole he could have aired up the truck and driven it onto the tow truck. I think that would have proven his point way better.

I completely agree with this statement. It is the job of some cops to drive around and look for shit like this dudes truck in the street. Really it is. This had nothing to do with the truck being laid out. It sat there for over 30 days. Like he was asking to be screwed with. And its his baby? All of the crap, and leaves under it shows how long it was there. Do you leave your baby in the street for 30 days without moving it once? Pretty dumb. Anyone with a mini knows that cops will be watching you. Really, they are. In the city that I live in, if a vehicle has been sitting in the same spot for over a week with-out moving, or is obviously not operational, it will be towed. If the registration on a vehicle in the street is expired, it will be towed. Driving with out a license, towed. No insurance, towed. And that is all P.D., not Highway Patrol. My city does a Driver's license check point. This not only gives the police department a chance to get unlicensed/insured drivers off the road, but illegal immigrants who drive without license, registration, and insurance also. And they also issue fix-it tickets for vehicle equipment infractions. Like a drive through screwing. But don't give em a reason, and you'll never have to talk to them.
