So i've been on streetsource for a while but i never really post. i've always used it more for references. i know there is a ton of badass trucks being built in the build ups section (my favorate to look at). although most of them seem to be people that have a full frame table and are building crazy trucks, there doesn't seem to be meny posts of a average joe posting something simple that you work on on the weekends. that's why i am posting this up. i'm helping out a buddy of mine that wants to bag his 81 c10. it's a pretty straight truck. i bought most the parts from matt at ekstensive he gave me a pretty good deal and took care of me. i got the 2 link, front cups, compressor, and tank. I got the gauge mount and a few other little pieces from ron at Autoloc. i used to work with ron at autoloc as the head tech. so with that being said, my buddy doesn't have the cash to get a porterbuilt set up. at least not right now. maybe later down the road. for now it will just be a simple airride set up just front and back. i'll post pictures as i do it. it may not be a sema car or anything like that i just wanted to share and maybe it will help someone else out thats trying to get started. enjoy

I don't have a whole lot of room to work with but i'll make it happen, i've seen sema trucks that have been built in a smaller garage then this.

i'll try to resize them next time i post.

Good luck man! I think Ron does have you beat on the garage size, lol

yeah he does. i think that's why the nissan got the extra cab cut out and deblazed has a shorter wheel base then a regular s-10. it's all so they can fit in the garage. it's like a 3/4 of a regular garage. i'm gonna head out there and start taking the bed off and get it torn down to where i can work on it.

Alright so i worked on the truck for a few hours tonight. got the bed pulled off.

Looks like this thing had a fifth wheel hitch hooked up on it at one point. got them cut off.

i got the wheels pulled off and the truck up on jack stands plus got the rear end pretty much stripped. pulled off the leaf springs and shocks And cut the exhaust off infront of the axle. just going to put a 45 on it to point it down.

that's it for today. i'm sure i'll have more pictures for tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing this come together. In the meantime I'd like to see some pics of the fullsize in the background.

So i started out this morning by taking the link bars and panhard bar down to the powdercoater. then came back and started cleaning up the frame. Taking off all the stuff that isn't needed any more.

Started trimming the frame so that the notch will slide over it.

After it was cut down.

Got the springs out and started cutting off the bumpstops.

Got the rear leaf spring hangers cut off and other brackets we don't need.

Once the frame was trimmed down we put the notch over it to make sure it fit and get an idea of where its going to go.

Should get the link bars back soon and we'll start getting the rear link together. and we'll start getting the front bag mounts in. sorry if this is too meny pictures i just know i love looking at the pictures during a build up. i figure the more the better.
