On most dually rear axles the third member is not removeable. thus no need to remove anything more than the cover to get to the gears.
second, the axles on most dually rear axles also come out without even having to remove the wheels.
third, Im not bagging any design. I like the mounting of a watts to the rear cover bolts. you do have some issues with the gasket being squashed sometimes with those but overall they are great.
fourth, welding 4 small tabs onto a dually rear axle is not very likely at all to warp anything.
fifth, I never said anything about the watts and lift. I have built and sold more than 120 so far and have had all kinds of designs from rear cover mounted to reverse where the crank mounts to a crossmember.
I like the simplicity of my design and it will fit any fullsize truck. no need for a special rear cover mount.
like I said, this is not a top of the line expensive thing, its a practical, easy setup.
Ive told past customers to buy the totally polished one if they want all that shine.
also, the only thing I do anymore with parts like this is build them in my 500sq ft shop behind my house, use the funds to buy material and build parts orders.
I sell the watts, which I dont any of to past orders, so make the $ to build parts.
I have bought a bender and other small equipment and traded for a lathe to build all these old orders. I have a regular job and do this in my spare time. I didnt have to come back. I could have filed bankruptcy and told everyone to F off, but Im not that way and Im sending orders about every 2 or 3 weeks.
the only thing that slowed me down was changing jobs where I no longer get overtime.
anyway, i make and sell an affordable watts link thats hassle and maintenance free. I am not bashing yours at all. I have just taken a different approach. peace
