How much longer did you make the arms. Mine are 3 inches longer and at full lift and drop, its close but doesnt hit anything. The lower tabs are welded to the arms way out near the lower ball joint. If you went only 2 or 2.5 inches longer, that might be just enough to be his problem. Plus trying to problem solve over the phone with someone is frustrating. I dont have a part number off hand and typically use a rancho or pro comp shocks so they are big diameter shocks. Just gotta find the sweet spot.

Hmmm, i made them 2.5" longer because he wanted to be able to tuck some longer lug nuts or spikes or something similar to that.... so i needed that extra bit on each side to pull it in... It still seems like he should be able to clear the frame some how with the shock, just by moving around the upper shock mount...

I suggested he use the Gas Grande shocks that i run on all my ram stuff, and he ended up with some shocks from monroe, that have a huge body diamiater...

I ended up machining him a bracket that wrapped around the inside of the ball joint plate, and welded in place... so its way out far enough, im sure of that.

idk , i was hoping to hear some revelation on a certain shock by chance that would help. I think hes going to end up notching that upper spring cup about .250, because he loves the shocks for some reason and dosent really want to change.

Sounds like you've done all you can and its out of your hands now. He should be able to manipulate the upper shock mount to get everything to clear. Just gotta mess with the angles.

hey lowboy in your last pic it looks like the lower cup clears the spring pocket kinda like the art cups do. does it just look real tall or is it the pic?
if it is that tall and clears the spring pocket how low does the front get setup like that? I would imagine it lays but still.

I know you cut your pocket up but did you have to if what im seeing is right?

Sorry for the q's

Thanks
Robert

My truck has SRW hubs with a spacer. not sure if it's aluminum or steel. they were on the truck when i got it. I guess the stock stuff was to wide for the rockstars.

when you extend your arms out are you getting anymore lift out of it? Also any pics of the rear fenders? All the ones i've seen on 4s the fender goes above the bodyline. I want to run 4s but i don't like it when the body line is covered up.

The cup in that pic isn't bolted in, so it looks taller then it really is. My arms require about a 4" tall cup to lay out on a 30" tall tire. And I trim the spring cup area accordingly. I also built slightly offset cups as the arms are longer to bring the lift ratio out a little. Yes, similar to an airlift uppet cup.

Full cycle on that set up is about 14 inches. So yes. There is a gain in lift. A lot of that is due to the uniball upper. There is more then enough artculation in a factory lower.

The rear fenders will remain stock. The axle has been narrowed and the rear suspension will be made accordingly. This truck will be rolling a 255/30/24 which is at the max diameter. Same as a 265/35/24. Just under 30". Anything bigger and you'll have to enxtend your fenders up with a narrowed axle or up and out with a factory width axle.

And if you're looking for an inexpensive way to narrow your axle. Use 3/4 ton single rear end axles. Most axle places will only charge a couple hundred bucks to narrow your original housing. Get out the door for 300 bucks.......or less.

Did you build those control arms? If so, how much for a set?
