yea my brain is wraping around the adapter + spacer, i am planing on running 3/4 hubs real soon, but i am going to try another tactic, probably geting inch longer control arms probably...that or live with less turning ratius lol..

Yeah that is my biggest concern is turning radius, switching over to the 3/4 hubs is going to make it so much worse. So options are swap to the 3/4 and lengthen or run 1tob hubs and shorten. Like mentioned above, I loosened my camber adjusters and pushed the tops in just to get the wheels to tuck.

Is it possible to weld the uppers, they look cast?

Or 3/4t hubs and custom adapters that push the wheels out an extra inch, like a built in spacer.

You cant just swap the 3/4 ton rotor on and roll. Will narrow the front way to much. Will hit the brake booster etc. You will run into lift issues if you narrow the stock control arms as the upper ball joint will hit the bag at full lift. Here is a mock up pic. Coverted to a 3/4 ton non-dually hub which is about 6 inches narrower then the dually hub. Then built 3 inch wider control arms to give some drivability back along with 95 percent of the turning radius.

The arms use factory lower ball joints with uniball uppers.

Heres mine. Need to narrow the front to tuck the 10 lug on the semi.
Dont mind the wrinkled fender. This is an OLD pic.

Built the arms for this truck. 22s in front. 24s in back.

Also i am rite in the middle of doing a 92 up for 24s. Built the new arms yesterday. Ill post pics up monday or tuesday if you want.

Actually here is the last pic of the day yesterday. Steering will be heimed like the above pic. Shows the advantage of the longer arms via shock location. Yes the shock "tower" will be braced. This is just for mock up and cycling of suspension.

Hey lowboy, i have a quick question for you about that shock placment.... I built a set of uppers and lowers for a customer that is running the 3/4 ton hubs So, when i added the legnth to the arm it opened up a perfect place to locate that front shock i figured... So, i sent him some tabs and brackets to put on the lower arm, and he would take care of the upper mount....

But apparently hes having issues with the shock hitting the spring pocket at full lift.. Have you ran into that issue before? I just told him to relocate the upper mount, or even use a smaller body shock, but he is working around some inner fenders that are welded in place all ready.

Any thoughts? what shock do you reccomend for these trucks, with that location for the shock. got a part number for what you normally use?
