Getting back onto it today guys, I screwed up and messed up on the inner diameter of all the stuff. I actually measured it and it is 3/16 thick...not 1/4" I've been a little busy getting stuff done for Speedorama, (it's a big custom car show we have around here).

Been jumping between projects and have been burning the candle at both ends, my wife wants to spend more time with her and the kids, yadda yadda. So I had to take a break.

Everything is done now, so it's back onto the truck. I dropped the rear bench off at the upholstery shop to get re-covered, and got the 7" and 8" slam bags. The notch I cut wasn't looking quite big enough so I tweaked it a little and i'm going to change it a bit to suit my needs.

I'll throw some color on the rendering later this week...glad you like it.

Ok it's been awhile and I got back onto it today, we got all the stuff out of the shop that had to go cept for one ride that will be done Saturday.

Got on her today and got the front end all torn out and mocked up for bag installation.

Oh by the way I really want to run a sway bar on this big beast, You guys just bolt it back up or what? From the looks of it, it kinda looked like it would come real close to where the cup and bag would be...you guys run them or not?

Any hints on getting the front end down some more? I have to get it on the crossmember, then make the back match the front.

Thanks.

Ya I have to go a simpler route, the money just isn't there for sectioning the front crossmember. I am doing the truck as a favor for a buddy, getting it ready in my spare time to get it ready for summer. He is paying for the parts, but i'm basically doing the work for nothing.

He's a real good friend, and has payed me some for my troubles, we'll figure something out later...i'm not worried, friendship is more important than money.

Thx for the tip, but I need more of a "bolt on" kinda tech hint. How much drop do you get out of the western chassis spindles anyway?

I have a binding problem I have to solve on the pass side of the truck. That's why I was so confused with why I didn't get alot of drop out of the front end...seeing as this truck has BellTech lowered spindles.

In the above pics that is the limit the lower control arm will go up.

I put the drivers side through it's full range of motion and it went waaaaay higher than the pass side. The lower arm basically will sit against the upper spring pocket. So where I cut the bump stop out will rest right up onto the upper pocket. On the drivers side the top of the rim (no tire mounted yet)will touch the top of the inner fenderwell and I still have 1" before the lower control arm bottoms out on the upper spring pocket. So if I drop the lower bag mount into the lower control arm, and do some measuring I should come damn close to laying this bitch out.

Pics tomorrow...but i'm tucking hella rim right now...on the drivers side.

you need to find out whats going on on that side you could have a bad balljoint or a bad a arm bush cheak that shit out cuz that not right and could cas you some problems

Ya i got rid of the inners, and started marking everything out back. Got some tube steel to drop my front bags into the arms and some other crap. I'll update the pics tonight of the progress.

I'm going to seperate the upper and the lower control arms and run them through their full range of motion, and see which one binds up. We had a rush insurance job that had to get out. So back to it again!
Question though, I have some serious issues with the ball joints when this thing is layed out. The upper is on a crazy angle and the lower has alot of pressure on the outer side of it. Anyone use those crazy balljoints from SD?

Everything wasn't super tight, so that may have accounted for some problems, i'm going to button everything up real good, then check it all again. The uppers are my main consern right not though. I am tempted to cut them near the ends, drop them down, then weld them back up on a better angle so they don't bind as much, anyone do anything like this before? Price on tubular uppers?

Thx guys.

Looking good so far, i'm wanting to get the front end on the ground this week, and start onto the back by Friday...we'll see.

Later.
