wow.... a super charger on a 6.5...?? no turbo lag....lol

6.5's are not cheap if you want to rebuild one. 6.2's are not as pricey..

gas mileage is going to suck. very small 16" tires and a 4.10 gear= i wont get over 50mph without the engine sounding like its going to pop a gasket...
i need to find somebody who can do the ring and pinion swap for me. ive got a 3.42 setting in the floor.

the good news is i did a little wheelin and dealing and bought a brand new carburator .a few weeks ago i bought a 1986 firebird that needed a new engine ... (i had 150.00 bux in it) sold it for 400.. the carb cost 350.00..

its a street demon 625 #1900.. i got the all aluminum one. its supposed to be for stock, to mild engines. gives better fuel economy as well...
i wanted to buy the one with the plastic fuel bowl, but you cant yet. it would take right at a month to get it. and i aint waiting that long. i want to drive this thing this weekend...
carb will be here this friday....
it is pretty much a modern version of a old school thermoquad. mostly used on dodge's. but they did make a GM version to replace the quadrajet...
the thing i find weird is that you could use the thermoquad on a 350ci motor and it would run great. take and run the same carb on a 454 and it would still run great...vacuume controled metering jets or something..

the 59 fairlane was delivered to my house today .... YAY! another project....

Dammit...lol you bastard

But yeah, it's left me walking already. That has me down for walking almost as many miles as I've driven it so far.

Sparky,

Have a few questions for you.
Where'd you get your fittings from?
Did you find a good deal on that airline?
On the front, did you use the upper plates and bottom cups? Or just the plate?
On the plate did you have to drill those holes?
Are those 7' or 8' bags?

Thanks for the help in advance.

got my fittings from quality air ride. but im not sure if they sell them anymore. ebay is always a option. just dont buy them airbagit or chassistech unless you just cant find them anywhere... ive heard horror stories about those guys....

found my 1/4" dot airline on ebay for like 15.00 shipped for 20 foot. i bought 60 foot..

on the front end. i used the top plates. i didn't use the lower cup that usually comes with the kit... (and yes, i had to drill all 8 of those holes for both top airbag plates)
i used some 8-3/4" inch steel pipe to "cup" my lower arms. (check out page 5 and 6 for more details.).

i have 7 inch RE7 slam specialties in the front.. i could use some re8's. but they would probably rub. but i have to say. these re7's(2600lbs) airbags lift my truck up just fine...

Yea man ive got some firestone 2600s on mine....it will max the control arms out....plenty of lift

Thanks for the info guys. Didn't know if I should run 7s or 8s up front. So on roughly a 4 inch bodydrop you build and lower the cup on the control arm. I probably won't be bodied for a while, just lookin to get bagged at the moment

Knowledge is power!!

no problem....

the limitations on the front bag size is going to be if you can find small piece of 9 or 10 inch 0.25"thick steel pipe.

i still have a foot or so of 8-3/4" 0.25"thick steel pipe if anybody needs to cup their lowers.. pipe this size hard to find...it will fit a re7 great...

yes, you need to cup lowers and run drop spindles if you are body dropped.
or....... you can buy some custom lowers and uppers and not have to do anything except bolt them on...

do you still have to use drop spindles if i was to get the aftermarket uppers and lowers?
