ever read the 50 dollar paintjob tread on some mopar forum ?
they used tremclad and white spirit as thinner for paint bringing on lots of thin coats using foam rollers and foam brushes and even though its cheap it gives good results from wat i understood the paint dries up pretty though , they used blunt objects like nails to test it for scratching and it held up prety good
the truck looks like a perfect candidate for that , its not overly rusty and seems to be pretty sound looking at the bodywork

More dually progress!

Sparky!!! Stop buying things that aren't helping dually progress!! Such as diesel engines and other projects.

With that being said its not a bad S10. The first truck I ever modified was my 1988 s10. It looked about like that. I thought I was the coolest guy in town. I painted it baby blue, put some 16's on it, and static dropped it till the frame was an inch off the ground LOL.
Don't feel bad about it. I went and got my old 95 Chevy 1500 back two days ago. Just another iron in the fire I don't have the time to mess with.

yep. between the dually, 59 fairlane and the s-10. i am spreading myslelf way to thin....lol

im not going to do anything crazy with the s-10. mainly just general maint. fix the AC, and drive it until the wheels fall off... the 2.5 4 cylinder is awsome on gas....

I bet it does do pretty well on gas. My old s-10 had the 2.8L and I wished I has the 4 cyl. the entire time. The smaller V6 liked gas and still had no balls. I ended up doing an engine swap on it towards the end. If you ever want to do an engine swap find a camaro with a V6 and use that. I got a 3.4l or 3.8l, I can't remember which one, and that thing did really well in the s10.

ive seen people do the roll on paint before. it will turn out good if you put on lots of coats. then wetsand the hell out of it until everything if flat...then buff it out to a shine...

i remember a dude in my neighborhood used some red and white house paint to paint his ford truck....lol. and he used a brush to put it on.. he thought it looked great. but in real life it looked like straight doo doo.....

i was looking on graigslist the other day and found a guy that will come to your house, work, mcdonalds, etc...etc..where ever you are. and paint your vehicle for 150.00 ...

my s-10 does real good on gas... i wouldnt have bought it if it had a v6..

i used to drive a newer s-10 parts delivery truck with a vortec v6. i got 2 speeding tickets because i couldnt keep my foot out of it. it had some getupandgo.... but it loved gas to much..

man.... im done with engine swaps for now... i need a garage or something..
i have a covered concrete slab attached to the garage. but the roof is falling in and leaks badly..
i may tear the roof off and put up those long plastic roofing tiles to replace the leaky roof... but not until the temperature goes down to at least 80... it was 106 today...

I'm with you on the working outside uncovered for right now also. We're also having about the same heat. Working out in the direct sunlight really blows. There's no way I'm dragging my ass out into this heat to weld. Hoping it will cool down pretty quick. Even small things become a pain in the ass when your working in a sauna.
