They make motor mounts and a plate to bolt that motor to a Chevy trans already

very good trade,,,,, it takes guts to rip apart a good running dodge truck just for the powertrain....::O:

but i would do the same thing if i had the chance... lmao

Thanks guy. For the sake of my budget I'm going to run the dodge auto for now. It got rebuilt with a alot of after market stuff when the engine did about 5k-10k miles ago. The dodge trans is an od also so thatll be a nice change from the 400. Hopefully when the dodge trans blows to shit I'll have the cash to put a 4L80 behind the cummins.
As for the dowel pin of death as they call it, it was tied down when the engine got rebuilt. So it should be good now.
I got my frame flipped and the entire under side welded up today. I'm going to try and do the sides tomorrow. Just have to plate the z at the shop after that. I've got the cross member out and cleaned up. I'm try to wait to paint it in case I notch it for the cummins.
I can't wait to tear into this POS dodge. I just keep finding more and more parts on it I can use. I noticed today that someone put some nice aftermarket blacked out cab lights on it. Those are going to have a nice new home a top the dually cab lol.

The only thing I'm nervous about it all the clearance with the firewall, hood, and especially my intercooler piping. I'll run a cowl hood to have a cummins but all the piping might get interesting. I also have to figure out a plan for a fuel tank. I don't think there are any kind of pumps in the dodges fuel tank. I think its all brought to the motor by the lift pump but I could be wrong about that. I do know that the dodge has had a newer tank swapped in it at some point and none of the wires on the tank are hooked up right now.
I did figure out that the dodge has a Dana 70 in the rear also with 3:55 gears a locker. I'm going to look into swapping the 3:55 into my dually and getting rid of the low ass gears that are in it right now. Not sure if I can do that either but we'll see.

i wonder if you can fit the hubs from youre 14 bolt dually axle on the dana
the eaziest way would be to make the dana a dually axle and swap it complete , tuning the gears in a diff is pretty precice work do it wrong and it starts humming louder than mud and snow tires on the highway

The reason I think swapping the gears might work is my dually was one of them that came with a Dana 70 instead of the GM 14 bolt. Hopefully since their both Dana the ring and pinion can be switched over.
