I know an engine hoist should lift it w/ no problem. As far as the holes in the floor, not sure of that one without some form of damage. But thats just my 2 cents worth, I know my engine hoist has lifted a big block with tranny attatched with cast iron heads and cast iron intake with no problems, it ca handle 2000lbs. I would be more tempted to make sure the cab is COMPLETELY gutted and get 4-5 of your buddies and bribe them into helping.

As far as weight the cab is already stripped down. It even has all the HVAC stuff stripped and the trans tunnel chopped out so the weight should be a lot less than a typical cab. The reason I'm trying to come up with a jig to lift it like that is the shop where I'm doing my work is quite a way out in the sticks. So getting all the buddies together to lift it on and off several times throughout the build could be quite a hassle, and a lot of money spent on beer bribery lol.
Just looking for some type of jig to lift the cab on and off with the hoist. It doesn't necessarily have to be from the floor holes. Any other ideas or suggestions are welcomed.

Ask sparky he takes his cab on and off all by himself and an engine hoist

Oh shit I forgot all about that. Thanks!!

Dont know if it will help but this is how I removed my cab. It was easy, worked really well and best of all, CHEAP!

Just an idea. Make sure your boards are sturdy. It did absolutely no damage to the roof either which was what I was really worried about while lifting it. Sorry, I couldn't get the pics to directly upload.

That would have scared the shit outa me with the cab tilted that far forward lol. I'm gunna give that set up a try, but set my balance point a lot farther forward to try and balance it a little better. Thanks for the pics, and nice pistols also. I'm a bit of a pistol guru myself. I just prefer to build up and tinker with auto pistols instead of revolvers.
Someone should really start making JIG's for different models to get the cabs lifted off with engine hoists LOL.

looks like you could balance it fine using the front opening , i used chains bolted trough the floor on a single cab though it took me a while too to get the center but you dont get dents in the roof doing it that way (most of the guys using the roofliftbar thingy use the dooropening edges to lift for that reason ) i had to stand on the back of my enginehoist and had to call someone to move it with the cab and me on the hoist , if you can make the hoist longer do so and maibe some barbells on the back of it

Well it did scare the crap outa me being that far tilted, but I took it real slow and easy. I didn't account for the front of the cab being heavier than the back. When I get ready to put it back on I'll probably work with my board length and center point to get it more balanced. On a different note, anyone ever set up a watts link? I'm building mine right now and have some questions.

I've never done a watts link myself, but I've been around a few. What kind of questions do you have?? If I can't answer your questions someone a little more knowledgeable will chime in.
A little out of no where, but I was behind a new dodge durango in traffic a couple of days ago and I'm about 99% sure it had a factory watts link. That's the coolest thing ever. A stock truck with a watts link.

o think the best place for expert help on that would be and
