I'm going with a 12v 6BT myself LOL. The 6BT can be done fairly cheap and still get 20mpg. I just had a thread about it on this forum actually. It's under mod tech I think. The thread was called "Which engine swap to do". I figured for my truck I can buy an entire late 80's to 96' dodge truck and have everything I need laying there to switch over. I can find an entire truck in my area with a cummins for about 3g-5g. After you get everything you need there's still lots of parts to sell of and your old drive train. So everything considered I think the investment is well worth it also.

I did some math on the subject also and figured out it would take about 15k-20k miles to pay off the swap and start saving money. And that's if you don't part out or sell any of your left over parts and if you do everything the more expensive way.

Also there is a sick link someone posted on that engine thread I mentioned above. You have to check it out when you get a chance. It's a guy building a dope ass bourban on a full tube chassis with a cummins.

In all seriousness that drop member looks sick. Are those Michigan Metalworks arms??
Going to be sick when it's done for sure. With everything I've got going on right now, and your new found motivation with your new parts arriving I think you'll definetly beat me now. I'm going to have to get my ass in gear on my truck now.

sweet batch of parts!

You STILL have to Z the frame that much after the dropmember? Thats all the guys Z the frame, even without the DM...I am confused.

I thought for a square dually, 2x4 box tubing under cab, cut off excess lower frame portion, Z 4". Arms and spindles. I was hoping to SFBD mine with a D/M and get close to the rocker without a Z. That Sux.
