And I suppose that CORR trucks and BAJA trophy trucks aren't real race truck either. 4WD is not always needed.

Gotta love an open mind.

wouldn't be interested in the fornt suspension from a 93 Explorer 2wd would ya?

i am considering converting mine to 4x4, if i can find a buyer for the front and rearend i definately will be, just need the $ to fund the project.....

Any good sites you guys have checked out? I've been to Pirate4x4.com but there's nothing at all for a Mazda that I could find.

Of course I've seen Kyle's @ and there's another photobook I found but that's it.

Any luck on the prerunner sites? I haven't looked at any of those yet.

35's are to big for a mazda IMO, you either have to cut the shit out of it or lift it way up....

anyone who has done any offroading will know that a high center of gravity is a bad thing to have......

you guys wanting to lift 2wd's....dont get me wrong, i like the idea, but why not convert them to 4wd with solid axles?

toyota axles can be had cheap, same with chevy axles if you wanted to make it wider....

would be the same amount of work, or maybe less, then fabbing up a lifted 2wd front suspension or swapping suspension from something else....

Yeah Kyle's has 35's on it with the Toy swap.

At this moment I don't care to go through all of that as I don't care to drop a lot of $$ into it for now. I just want more ground clearance, which is why I like what Lime has done to his. That's about all I want....for now

I do plan on converting to 4x4, but I don't want the ride quality of front and rear solid axles. As far as I can tell, the 4x4 suspension is completely different from that of the 4x2. Might be easiest to do a frame section, rather than welding in all the different mounts and cross bars.

I agree that 35s are just too big. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably ditch the body lift and just go with the biggest tires I could fit. Probably 31s.

You don't like the body lift?

thanks for the link, Does the stock transfer case drop on the pass side or does it drop on the driver side.

I am thinking about swapping in a 5.0, 35-36" tires, Frontier bumpers from CALmini, I am looking at a 7-9" lift over stock. As long as you go wide and not narrow, being tall is not a problem. That is why I am thinking about a full size truck axles over a toyota's, but ya never know.
