Ok so it has been a long time since I have updated. After finding out my engine was pooched and contemplating for months my options I ended up pulling apart my entire motor and decided to just drop the bottom end off to be media blasted and fully rebuilt. Right now my truck sits at the point where it needs to have the body finished up (rust wise) then paint and drop the motor back in.

I am dropping off the motor tonight for the rest of the work it needs. Tomorrow I will know weather I will be able to bring my truck down to the body shop I work at so I can finish all of the body work and get it painted.

I am hoping to have the truck finished before the end of august. Which in my opinion is very do-able.

I will keep you all posted over the next few days because now this project should start to pick up.

I got my motor back today fully rebuilt top and bottom end. New piston rings bearings gaskets seals rocker guides and springs etc. Nothing left unreplaced or refinished.

I am finishing the rust work in the engine bay then I will get the motor in this weekend.

cept the flywheel.......just kidding ...how much did the rebuild set you back??

Yeah lol.... I just decided to stop there ha ha. After doing alot of the work myself with parts and labour including honing and media blasting + painting it was in and around $1500. All the parts were Mazda genuine parts.

So I got the motor in on Monday and have been just starting to hook it all back up so I thought I'd grab a pic. Here it is now; still a lot of work to be done.
