looks good so far and your progress is great. only thing i suggest is not just painting below "the red line" and flashing in the roof. youd be better off just painting the whole thing. and it'll look way better with whatever colour want.

Yeah I have decided that too. I may just reclear some areas tho but all of it will have paint that looks 100% new. Might do a 2 tone as well.

Tuesday Aug. 8, 2006!

Ok guys...

As some of you have seen, I spent ALOT of money to get my bed off... Sitting near $350 to get it off plus $500 for the new one!

Anyways, I like what I see and I don't like what I see...

Here are some pics:

How she sits now:

Ye ol' bed:

My old rotted shock:

Rust on back of cab... Not too bad, behind the seam.

Brake Something? What is it?

Wrecked gas tank:

This is why:

(P.S. That isn't supposed to come out...

Little worse rust on back of cab:

Solid rails:

My old bed... Mint quarters... buy the bed... we will deliver.... 100$!

So thats about all thats gonna happen tonight...

Gotta replace shocks, tank, and brake thing before more work.

Good progress man, but that thing is really rusted. You might just want to look for a good whole parts truck that doesn't run. It might be cheaper in the end.

well the frame doesnt look too bad. most of that will all grind down and can be painted. you will be suprised how much of that is just surface rust. everything else can be replaced.
i had rust coming through the back cab in that spot. its easy to cut out and weld new sheet metal in.
the tank shouldnt cost you that much, just make sure you get all new parts, you dont want to use any of the old components.
so whats your plan?

Well I'm Zac's older brother, I have been giving him a hand with this truck. Its actually really rustfree for up here. I could take some pics of others in this area were you can see through the doors there is so much rust. As far as the cutting torch costs, live and learn I was unaware gas costs so much. I would have my own set of tanks right now but its difficult to get places to fill them up here, and its illegal to transport big 100lbs yourself. I found him some quotes and a used tank looks to be around 100.00 so thats not to bad, hopefully i can find a new one, but we will see. ttyl DC.
