man i just moved to calgary from ontario... as far as i know, an insurance company can't decline you coverage, unlless they cancelled you beofre the accedent... so worste case scenario .... you get in an accedent, they cover it, cause they have to, they see all the airride parts in your truck... then they wont take you on from that point ... but at least you are covered for the accedent. Call a broker, he could ask that question for you... if you find a nice one. I'm not 100% but i'm pretty sure thats the way it works.

insurance is just one big scam anyways. you pay a ton of money just incase something happens! and then you never see a diime of it back unless you get into an accident and even then you will never get back what you have to put into it. and it is usually a hassle to get it. but you gotta have it. damn communists. lol

To answer Zac's question, And I know this first hand. Do not tell them what you have done to your vehicle. But if its your daily, you gotta be squeaky clean. Cops will even ask you if your insurance co. knows what you did to your ride, cause they know most won't knowingly insure modded rides. One day I went to Statefarms office to give my agent the check to I could get the slip ASAP, because of a show that was coming up. She asked why it hadn't been insure for so long, and idiot me told her the truth. I already had the slip in my hand, all I had to do was lie and say I had the motor re-built. So that same day I went to ALL-State and lied my ass off. It's all good now. I got classic insurance and full replacement value at appraisal value.

So what would happen if you were in an accedent could they deny your claim?

Zaccutt, I've had my insurance canceled 3 times for mods to my vehicle. Yes cops will inform your insurance company of any mods that you have done and your insurance company will order random vehicle inspections if they suspect anything.

If your vehicle is 15 years or older you can go with the Silver Wheels plan for your custom ride. Runs you about $400-$600 a year but you must be apraised.

BelAir Direct will also cover newer custom vehicles. You can insure the value of the vehicle or parts like wheels, etc. But its not cheap. Like regular insurance on steroids.

I wouldn't recomend fucking around or else some dick might run a red and you get blammed for your "altered suspension" and then get a cheque for $250 for your Mazda that you've put $10 grand into.

Also watch out for the MTO and the Emmisions police. They're yanking plates like crazy, and yes they also inform your insurance company. Look out for easy shit like rub marks in the wheel wells, scrapes on the gas tank, vaccum lines, clear lights, etc.

Have fun and welcome to owning a custom vehicle in Ontario.

You guys might want to move to China... I hear they have a better human rights record than Ontario
zaccutt   +1y
LOL Limequat...

Sierra, this is what I thought although you did clarify it. Thanks!

I don't think for now, well I am 16 and JUST starting to drive, I don't think I will lower my truck... I would love to but I have to keep a good record for a bit first.

Thanks...

Zac
