not that it has one belt less, but the weight savings difference inbetween the two pullies, every ounce of weight you shave off the rotating assembly of the engine = more hp. as for who makes cams....most places just send them out to be reground @ a knowledgeable machine shop.
fast freddy's sends theirs to delta cams in tacoma washington (or at least the did mine)
paeco industries in b'ham does theirs in house
colt cams in british columbia

then you could always call comp cams & get them to make one from scratch, but your gonna pay out the wazoo for it.

if you do get one re-ground i would suggest having it cryotreated for strength & durability as i would hate to spend that much $$ & it break
apart & ruin the head / valvetrain.

AND the fact that you are going to be running a tad more than the 85-95 horse the stock motor puts out.

Yep> What an opportunity for some young whippersnapper to start a Bseries specialty shop and either stock or fab all these nice wish list goodies. If I were 20 years younger I would do it.NYTRD if I can get the lazer shop here in town to fab me an aluminum undredrive do u want one and if so how many slots u want in the pulley?I need two.BJ

Why ford puts on stock cars...like say...the aerostar, and the f150 had em I believe.....its a myth that they are for race use only....now carbon fiber that might be a different story.

yeh, carbon is race , when my racing team was given an new F150 in 1996 as a daily, we had a look at it underneath and it was aluminum.
Just to confirm the previous statement.
I have real raw carbonfiber at my disposal at the moment, I had not considered making a hood out of it, that may be a good idea, except I dont wanna look 2F@#$ 2Furious either. So I would paint it. Although it look s beautiful, I would hate to support the haters. ( Sport Compact Boy Racers) As for suspension parts, when carbon is used for that type of application it is used in layers laminated together, in a criss cross fashion for strength. Or molded under high pressure, If I had Boeings' machine shop we could do it.

Anyways, for the sake of lightening up, remember the term acid dipped?
BJ you should know this old school term , LOL Dodge did it with the ramchargers and hemi darts etc. way back when.
Shave everything that is not needed, wipers dead matting passenger seats stereos etc, Think of a rally car, totally stripped, and yeah they drill holes in them too. Replace parts with parts made of lighter materials, glass for example.
And adress rolling resistance, lube the chassis make sure the bearings are mint and consider wheel size ride height and traction, aerodynamics are also an issue of rolling resistance, I could write a book but I'd kill the thread.

Yep-I do remember seeing a Dodge Dart with a 426 elephant motor,Dodge D100 van seats, every body panel either acid dipped or aluminum, windows made of plexiglass with no crank handles, battery in the back, and the damn thing ran 11's IF u could keep it in a straight line(lol).Well ive got enough ideas to keep me busy this winter I think.Hocsdawg is going on a very strict diet. Thanks all.BJ

BJ,
Might want to look into an aluminum radiator. Radiators of the era were copper-brass, aluminum radiators will weigh about 1/3 of your stocker. No need to spend $$$ on a custom race piece, just abou anything that fits will do.

What motor are you putting in? Someone mentioned aluminum blocks. Probably good for ~50 lbs. Aluminum calipers?

Really got some time? Full tube frame.

For the guys talking about CF body work, don't waste your time. The metal is so thin already. Ever pull off a fender? If the wind catches them, they fly away.

Thanks. I know that I have seen Koyo aluminum rads for Bseries in the past, but I have not been able to locate 1 recently.I do have Lighter slotted rotors and ceramic pads, but calipers are stock-have not seen different ones but please advise if u know source.engine will be a 2200 that is extensively modified but retains durability-about 155-60 hp.Since I do drive truck regularly,CF would not be hi on my list to replace major body panels. A CF or aluminum hood would be nice.I have a CF hood on my Volvo and it is sweet. Thanks for the input.BJ
