Since I posted this, Mrs. Cusser also took the B-truck on vacation to Bisbee Arizona Oct. 2013. The truck had a great time !!! (there's a dedicated thread to that trip either on this site or on mazdatrucking.com)

I drove my truck across the states when I first got it, from California to Florida and back! I was 16 with a fresh license and a free B2200 I got from my uncle. My buddy and I wanted to visit some friends that moved away. We saved up and spent 2 months driving across, up, down, multiple side trips/ dirt roads that looked fun . I think overall I put down around 8,000 miles on that trip alone! It was the single best trip of my life. The truck ran great! No A/C or power steering at the time, but I did finish the sound system right before the trip so that made up for the suffering heat. haha. I ran about 28mpg.

I wasn't really planning on keeping the truck for very long, but after that trip I was in LOVE! its been 10 years and its still running strong.

Nowadays it goes 10 miles a day or so (work and back), but the majority my family is in so-cal and I now live in the East Bay (Californa) for the last 3 years so. In total I have driven it down and back about 15-20 times and clocking in at about 800 miles round trip. Plus it was my primary truck for when I moved all my stuff up, 3 or 4 trips LOADED. That drive requires going over the grape vine where I have to floor it in 4th going up the mountain pass. With the exhaust I have it SCREAMS up the mountain, no problems whining out 4th gear to around 4grand just to get up to 65-70mph for about 15-20 min straight! and that's without a load every time I worry that it is going to grenade going through the pass but it holds strong every time.

Iv'e taken mine on two 1,600-2K mile trips, no problems. I also use it as my summer daily diver, 50 miles a day for work, and what ever side trips I need to make.

I drove mine from Joplin Missouri to NYC. We left and went up to Chicago, then across to NJ and up to the big apple. Ran like a champ till NYCs shitty shitty roads bent 2 of my escalades and pulled the exhaust off the manifold causing a burnt valve.

Furthest Ive driven mine would be maybe 500 miles round trip, my dads mazda has been 1300 miles round trip numerous times, everytime we went to change the oil there was less than a quart in it. Never had a single problem with any of the b's that we have owned.

That's one thing to always keep an eye on, your oil level.
