I have a list of questions to ask about air ride... Any "air ride for dummies" threads? I want to know what all the different parts are called, what there for and how to pick good parts. Been looking at different sites and so confused on what to get. Trying to learn all this stuff to but still confused.

I have a complete back half from my 2600 that we could put on. Its bags over axle. Triangulated 4 link and monster notch.

All u would need is bags and a front torsion kit.

I could probably slam it out in a weekend. Pm me and we can figure something out!

Thanks for all the replies guys! But I have more questions... For one does anyone have a list of parts needed for a basic FBSS setup? I'm not looking to go fancy just basic air ride. Also is there anyone that runs a front back setup? What's size air tank is needed? How reliable are engine driven comps?. How many electric comps to run? What fittings and how many. I personally plan on using 3/8 valves and stuff. Also any specific brands to use? Any that you've had trouble with? I'm sorry that's a lot of questions but I'm bored at work and trying to get a list going of shit I need to start buying.

3/8 smc. Fittings is kinda up to you and where u place your valves.

Viair compressors and slam specialties bags...

I am using Slam Re-6's in the front, and Re-7's in the back.
Just a word to the wise, bag on bar rides better than bag over axle. If I had to do my link setup again, I would definitely do B-O-B.

Front-Back setups will cause more body roll. I had 8 valves on my S10 for FBSS, but I have 6 valves on the Mazda because I don't care to hit sides anymore, so the rear bags are Tee'd. But I definitely prefer to have individual control of the front bags. I guess it's just personal preference. I feel it handles better.

As for tank size, it really depends on how switch happy you are going to be. If you plan on hitting switches all the time, I'd want at least 10 gallons. If not, a 5 gallon would be fine. You'll probably want 1 electric compressor per 5 gallons. I run 2 Viair 380's on a 7 gallon.

Engine Drivens are awesome. I had one on my S10. They are quiet and pump a lot faster than electric. It will take some fabricating to get it to fit somewhere in your engine bay. They are reliable if you check the oil and don't burn it up. But I'd either want a shrader valve to air up at gas stations if needed or a backup electric compressor on the truck as well.

Fittings are something you need to figure out at the end after you figured out where you will be putting all of your valves. I prefer Push-to-connect, DOT approved fittings. Compression work well too, but are more of a pain in the ass IMO.

I run 3/8" valves and 1/2" line on my trucks. Lots of good brands out there. SMC, GC Xtreme, airride, easystreet, etc.

You'll need water traps for compressors, check valves, switches, air gauges, relays, shocks, link setup, bag brackets for the front, step notch, etc.

I attached a generic air management setup picture.

Mike u are honestly the shit! For real bro! I was just going to ask about using 6 valves instead of the traditional 8. And I don't think I'll be hitting switches too much so I hope I could get by with a single compressor and a 5 gal. I would love to find an engine driven compressor but I have no idea even where to look! Also on a side note (and please don't shoot me for this noob ass question!) is it safe to roll low a lot of the time. I mean is it cool to run with the bags less than full? How many psi should I run and still have a decent ride? Also is it possible to run sway bars with bags? Once again thank u everyone for the advice and I'm so sorry I'm such a newbie at all this.

Dude that picture is awesome! Completely made sense all the info flying around in my head. Now that I see it like that it makes sense... I'm not book smart, need to see it or do it to learn.

I've got another question though, 3/8 valves or 1/2...i definitely want a slower more controlled setup but how much difference is it between the two?

Sorry Fred, I'm going to make my own thread soon but since this one is right here.... Lol
