You can use your old EGR (unconnected) as a block-off plate as long as the valve inside it is closed. I made my own block-off plate, but if you make yours, leave a "ear" and drill a hole in it for the return spring. Wet/dry is sandpaper, used with water.

Too bad they still haven't fixed those darn kits, amazing.

Search here or on MazdaTrucking for my big list of comments and hints for Weber installation.

Thanks cusser. Do you have a picture of this plate with the ear so I can see where you put the ear. I found your BIG LIST and I have to say it was VERY helpful. I'll post some pics of the install.

Here's some pics. I need to get everything hooked up before deleting anything.

you can go this far or you can eliminate more. Just look up "wire tuck"

In this pic I hadn't done mine yet. don't have pics of it done.

No, no pictures. Because I made my EGR block-off before someone posted that he had done this. Basically, I'd leave extra metal "rear of" the rear-most bottom bolt hole in your block-off plate, and drill a 4th hole there for the spring. Right now I used a "figure 8" steel piece about 1-inch long, and that's held by the rearmost bolt, and the spring goes in the other loop of the figure 8. And been like this for about 8 years now.

Not to thread jack, but how can you.keep the ptc heater piece and eliminate everything else or can you eliminate the ecu and still keep it?

guys get a jar and put 30 bucks a week (HELL OR HIGH WATER) and after 12 months which will fly by you'll be starting your build.

PS. keep putting the 30 a week in the jar you'll need it.. lol
