Hello everyone,im new to these trucks and im wanting to lower my 87 b2000. It has stock tires and rims. Looks like the front is about 3-4 inches above the tire and the rear is about 9 inches above the top of tire! Looks too high for my taste. I have been reading about 3 inch blocks but im thinking it need alot more than 3 inches in the rear? thx Its not a DD

You have a lot of choices and the easiest is blocks and T-bar crank - but is by far not the best (any block past 3" has given me bad axle wrap/wheel hop)

My perennial (lol) favorite setup is:

DJM front arms

Bilstein shocks (Xterra front and T100 rear)

4x4 torsions

De-arch rear leafs till flat (optionally add a leaf)

You can add a 1-2" block to that if you like

Small C-notch with that setup will get you rear travel back

This setup gives a nice ride, stiffer than stock but great handling, I ran this setup with 500hp blown 5.0 and it was great, it's also similar to my current turbo B22 - the only difference is I have not added the leaf and have less de-arch with no notch - and those are on the menu.

Only thing is 3 in in the back won't even lower it much?

Not only will 3" not lower it much, you'll be illegal in some states depending on your wheel size and it can give you axle wrap.

I am currently at a 5.5 drop with a 4" de-arch and 1.5" block. I should have done an inch or 2 more de-arch but did not want to c-notch it right away, I will most likely notch it and then get the springs de-arched more.

I love those wheels.

looks as if someone already played with the torsions up front.

When I got mine it sat a little more level then that. I lowered mine 2 inches all around. I have a 3.5 inch fender to tire gap.

Here it is before I lowered it and painted it. you can see a difference with just 2 inch blocks.
My next truck is getting 4 inch blocks.
