whats the easiest engine swap

i was wondering what other engine could you swap with the 89 b2200 2.2L that would just bolt up? what other engines could i swap that would just drop right in. just for future thoughts

you can run a complete 626 2.0 motor and it will bolt right up. Same F-series block. You can even get the 626 turbo,

The motors in the 626 turbo are they the 2.2 turbo and the same as an mx-6 turbo? Wondering if my 2.2 turbo will match up with my 2600's tranny

those are just the domestic ones, there are a few other engines that mazda put out to other countries that can bolt up too

not to a 2600 tranny, different size input shaft on the tranny.....it will bolt to a 2200 tranny.

thanks for the answer on the mx-6 turbo motor i have one and have been trying to get this question answered for a long time and no one hase ever been able to answer thank god i have a 2200 tranny in mmy garage

no prob....i also have seen while searching about my rear axle, that the 99+ miata 6speed trannys come from the same "m" family that the 2200 tranny is from, and might bolt up to our engine too.....would be nice to know if that was the case

Yeah that is something else to consider seems like that would be scenario if i am to swap the 2.2 turbo

Yeah that would be a 6-speed tubo b-series damn and i have the boost at 15psi while its in my car and it run 14.5 in the 1/4 i should have a pretty speedy truck haha
